Bottle from Kumiyama AEON Mall liquor shop, as "Furano Beer Staut" -- yes, "Staut". Mild dark roast nose, with chocolate, and yeast. Dark translucent brown. Very plain and sort of dull roast malt initial, chocolate, minerals, small bittering in mid and final, and somewhat dry in finish. Medium body. Interesting and a bit raw flavored. Seems a touch weak in character for a stout, or even a staut. jonno (2913) - JAPAN - FEB 3, 2013
Odd beer. Conbini beer from a brewery I have never heard of. And yes, it’s spelt staut. Thin body and not overtly chocolaty. Some fruity noses a hint of raisin, but noting special. Solid but not too appealing. KyotoLefty (10689) - Kyoto, JAPAN - OCT 2, 2009
Black with a fine, low, chocolate milkshake head. Malty, chewy aroma, with chocolate, caramel, a bit of smoke, and some roasted malts. Sweet and creamy on the whole, with restrained burnt notes and just a touch of dried fruit. Light malts, rather fruity flavor, a bit of chocolate, wood, mineral water, and a good sour dose. Lacks the usual roastiness of a stout. A bit too fruity, and the body also too light. Not bad, but not really a stout. Too thin and fruity. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 13, 2009
Bottle. Deep red brown with a medium tan head. Sweet roasted coffee aroma and flavours. A hint of licorice. A bit flat. Not much to write home about, but drinkable enough. faroeviking (11217) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - APR 7, 2008
Bottle. Pours a deep red-brown colour with a medium creamy beige head. Sweet roasted malt and chocolate in the aroma. Very good mouthfeel. Nice roasty maltiness, chocolate, slight liquorice and bit of coffee in the flavour. Long lasting roasty choco finish.

Pours a great mahogany bordering on deep deep red. Fine creamy beige head with fine lacing. Aroma is mild, some fruitiness, chocolate and hard roasted malts. Fine, light mouthfeel. Flavour has good sweet chocolate, great hard roasted malts but still soft. Super-long aftertaste. Great stout!
33 cL bottle, thanks to faeroeviking. Pours dark brown and with a reddish hue and lacing brown head. Hard roasted malt aroma. Flavour is smooth roasted malt. Light liqourice note in addition to chocolate. Light roasted finish with a light fruity note. KimJohansen (10497) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - APR 5, 2008
Near black with medium off white head. Weak aroma with light malty notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, chocolate and coffee notes. Ends sweet.
