COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Night To End All Dawns began life as an imperial stout and was transformed into a massive dark ale during 15 months spent in bourbon barrels. The extended aging allowed seasonal temperature fluctuations in the barrels to draw bold flavors from the oak that can only develop with time. The heat of the bourbon gave way to a subtle caramel sweetness, and the bold, sharp edges of the roasted malt mellowed and married with notes of vanilla and oak. Belgian Candi Sugar in the kettle created a layer of dark fruit complexity and a dry finish.

Bottle shared by madbeerbaron. Thanks. This is a super dark beer. Loads of coffee and chocolate with vanilla and a bunch of oaky bourbon. A little burnt chocolate cake and decent alcohol heat. Awesome.

EBF 2017. Phenomenal stuff. This is a barrel-aged imperial stout done really well. There’s a lot of sweet, vanilla notes that are balanced beautifully with the charred oak and bourbon aromas, and the overall result is a truly fantastic beer.

Sample at EBF Saturday Inky thick black color with a thin tan head. Chocolate roasty earthy molasses with some big bourbon vanilla and hints of dark pitted fruits. Sipper quite tasty.

Thanks Huhzubendah for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing pitch black with latte colored foam lacing. The nose shows a balance of rich bourbon, dark chocolate, charred wood, cinnamon, and hints of toffee and fig. The palate is full bodied and lightly carbonated with basically no alcoholic heat for such a high ABV beer. Rich forward flavors of the same rich bourbon, charred wood, and vanilla dominate the front end. The finish is a strong rush of dark chocolate and roasted malt bitterness.

2015 ANTEAD set. Dark brown body with a beige head of broken bubbles. Fantastic aroma of oak, bourbon, light smoke and char notes. Terrific flavor. Chocolate and oak with an unreal finish. So smooth and elegant. Silky. Complex and amazing.

Tasted at GABF. Thick black pour with a dark brown head. Flavors of chocolate, toffee, molasses, fudge, bourbon, and a hint of smoke. Some burn on the finish, so it’s a little boozy. Drinks fine but not exceptional in my mind.

Bottle shared at THT. Black with a small beige head. Aroma of big bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, toffee and molasses. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation. [26-08-2016]
