Head High is our interpretation of an American-style India Pale Ale (IPA). This beer is all about the hops; we use a blend of five different varieties all grown in the Pacific Northwest. A small charge of Chinook and Columbus early in the boil adds a smooth bitterness. A majority of the hops are then added late in the kettle or post-fermentation to produce a beer that is heavy on hop flavor and aroma. The combination of Cascade, Centennial, Citra and Columbus give Head High a noticeable grapefruit flavor with aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Our house American ale yeast ferments to a dry finish that accentuates the use of imported Pilsner and lightly kilned crystal malt resulting in Head High’s straw color and crisp flavor.

1/X/16 - 1Pt. can @ home, Fuck-Zwanze-Tasting - BB: n/a (2016-1202) Thanks to Elmana+1 for sharing the can!

Pretty cloudy orange beer, creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: fruity, mango, passion fruit, some grapefruit. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sweet malty start, some caramel, mango, grapefruit, citrus, bitter but pretty gentle. Aftertaste: grapefruit and citrus, little piny, lemony, bit resinous, more grapefruit, lovely tropical fruit notes, pineapple and mango.

On tap at Newark airport while awaiting an overnight flight to Lisbon. A fantastic PNW-style beer that wasn’t ever on my radar. Hazy color, great hop character. Medium-bodied, excellent balance. Bracing for a late flight with a nice Manhattan skyline view from here, this is a great way to spend an hour!

Pineapple mango passion fruit citrus on the nose some bread and grass and definite Pilsner malt notes. Great color hazy orange yellow gold great frothy head and lace. Flavors of mango pineapple and passion fruit. Some grassy notes linger. Got an almost malt liquory mouthfeel. Interesting. Smooth with odd alcohol fussels. Bread and wheat show up. Definite passion fruit. Interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great IPA. This is a mix of great hoppy taste without a bitter after taste. If you want a great everyday drinking beer this is a winner!

16 oz. can. Orange body with a small white head. Smells of mango hops and some caramel malt. Tastes less interesting. More grapefruit than tropical fruits. Some caramel and toasty malts and a moderate bitterness. Medium body. Solid IPA, but smells better than it tastes, ultimately.
