Bottle with thanks to Vin! Pours clear mahogany, small beige head, dissipates slowly, good lacing. Aroma is mocha, cinnamon, cocoa, licorice, vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, lots of cinnamon with a hint of pepper and a touch of ash along with the mocha. Medium body. Pretty darn good.

Draft taster at CBC Boston 2017. Black with a slight tan head. Roasty malt, and chocolate dominate, with some coffee. Cinnamon and chili are there but subtitle, slightest touch of heat.

4 oz. draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Boston, 23 September, 17. Aroma is cinnamon, huge coffee, roasted malt, black pepper, vanilla. The flavor reminds me of Mexican cake just with coffee added. Coffee lingers. The Ancho pepper and cinnamon is not over done. Alcohol is not found with abundant flavor!

At CBC Boston 2017. Comes black with a decent reddish brown head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, and cinnamon. Taste is chocolate, roasted malt, cinnamon, coffee, and a touch of the ancho chilies. Excellent.

4.3
PhillyCraft (7923) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 17, 2017
Bottle shared by Dave, pours a beautiful pitch black with large mocha head. Smell is incredible: cinnamon, cold brew coffee, dark chocolate, and roast. Flavor leans toward overly roasted coffee and bitter cacao but also chocolate covered cherry, moth balls, and rich coffee. Medium bodied and not too sweet or sticky. The maple comes out as it warms. Burnt cinnamon bun as it gets to room temp. Incredible and no ancho detectable. Cheers

4.5
