Deep copper with a haze and a foamy, dirty white head. The aroma is fruity amd hoppy. The flavor is caramel malt with a richly sweet, hoppy accent. This beers malt holds its own. It has a latent birn on the palate but not the gullet. An interesting amd different rendition of America’s new DIPA style. ben4321 (6739) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - APR 1, 2014

Aroma: The nose has some really nice hops, grapefruit, clean malts, wood, and a bit of wine
Appearance: The pour is a clear orange, with an average sized white head and medium lace
Flavor: The flavor is lightly sweet, some wine flavor, and a good amount of hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a clean feel, some average carbonation, and a mid-dry finish
I was impressed by this one. I really liked how the wine aging played on the base beer. Very nice stuff.
Got this via a trade with icetrauma, thanks man. 22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly hazy red orange color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, citrus rind, pineapple, orange, floral, light red wine, grass, caramel, light oak, light toast, and herbal earthiness. Very nice and unique aromas with nice balance and complexity. Taste of grapefruit, orange, pineapple, caramel, citrus zest, toast, light pine, floral, grass, light red wine, light oak, and light piney spiciness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pineapple, caramel, toast, light red wine, light pine, grass, floral, and light piney spiciness on the finish. Damn nice complexity and balance of flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying flavors present on the finish. The wine barrel presence was much more subtle than expected, but it was really a great thing. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a creamy, slick, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent barrel aged DIPA! Nice flavor balance and complexity with the wine barrel aging; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. brokensail (16648) - Dublin, California, USA - DEC 2, 2012
A hazy amber pour with an off-white head. Pretty nice nose on this. Floral hops, a bit of citrus zest, and some fruit/wine notes. Sweet toffee and caramel, lots of oak, and a hint of grass. The oak dominates the flavor. Some wine, fairly bitter, a mild acidity, some mineral notes, and a very light citrus quality. Definitely on the sweet side as well with a fair amount of toffee and caramel. MaltOMeal (1094) - Land of Sugar, Texas, USA - NOV 23, 2012
bomber. The only think I didn’t like about this product was the hefty sticker price. Ouch! Pours a dark amber w/ a reddish tint. Nose is vinous and oak. Taste is of red wine, citrus and some sweet malt. A different combination, but very tasty! Mouhthfeel is smooth and bitter, but not the powerful bite of some other IIPAs. Typically, I don’t care for oak-aged IPAs, but i do like this one, probably because of the wine barrel flavor working so well with this IIPAs base beer. Good brew, but the price is too high, IMO.

Excellent beer. This is a very well balanced double I.P.A. That mixes a high 10% abv with a nice clean finish.

Great floral berry sweet tannic nose.Slightly pink gold with off white head. Nice integration of tannic berry senses into a hoppy beer. SudsMcDuff (8495) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - NOV 5, 2012
22oz bottle .. . pours a dark amber .. . great foam, sturdy healthy lacing .. . very mild wine barrel, and basically regular rodeo clown .. . save your money and just buy regular RC
.. . . for that kind of money you’d think you’d get two testicles, don’t you think? KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Bottle. As Bleeng asked: Bodacious? Pours a deep amber/mahogany with a thick off-white head. Nose is a woodsy hay with malt pellets dipped in light orange juice. Flavor is a bready IPA quickly kicked out by massive oak flavors and light orange peel. Decent mouthfeel. I’m biased against malt-forward IPAs but this ain’t bad. I think a little aging (6months) would mellow the flavors enough. bleeng (1691) - Seattle still not near Beersel., Washington, USA - OCT 26, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2014 Also known as Bodacious? Pours dark gold with a hint of red. Nice big white fluffy head. Nose is slightly winey, some hops, grassy, musty, malty. Taste has some barrel winey notes, very bitter, hops are somewhat subdued, alcohol is present and standing. Dry and bitter finish. Medium body. Interesting take on a barrel beer. FUN series #1. 10/4/14 FUN #10. Nice winey barrel notes and still drinks very fresh.
