Nice pour. Fast dissipating tan head. Leaves amazing lacing down the tulip. Smells of gingerbread, nutmeg, allspice. No bourbon on the nose but the taste is well rounded by the BBA’d influence. Lingering boozy whiskey finish with caramel, gingerbread and vanilla. Dixonian (1657) - Plano, Texas, USA - FEB 8, 2013
22oz bottle thanks to Mar.
Reddish brown brew with some off-white head. Nose is spices, oak, dark fruit, vanilla, and bourbon. Lots of vanilla and spice in the flavor. mar (5456) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 7, 2013
Deep brown with a cream head. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, light spice, gum drops, and more vanilla. Smooth palate, vanilla, bitter, wood, spice, and more vanilla. jbeatty (1266) - New York, USA - JAN 21, 2013
Bottle, reviewed from notes, tasted 12/24/2012. Pours dark brown, nearly black, creamy head, nice retention. Aroma is chocolate brownie, slight grassy herbal quality, vanilla, dark grained bread, caramel bourbon. Taste is cinnamon and pumpkin spices, roasted malts, light coffee and chocolate, bourbon finish. Smooth, thick palate, very drinkable. Nice, more complex than Yule Shoot Your Eye Out, and my favorite of the two. SudsMcDuff (8538) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - JAN 20, 2013

Dark brown pour with a tan head. Great gingerbread aroma to this. Mild bourbon and vanilla which work nicely with the spice character. Sweet caramel, molasses, and toasted malt. Light roast, chocolate, and a bit of oak. Also tastes like gingerbread. Nice vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. Very subtle roasted malt, good spiciness, and brown sugar. Bottle shared at Chad’s birthday. Amber red pour with a small bubbly head. Aroma is spicy, vanilla, and toast. Taste is sugar cookies, vanilla, and wood. MaltOMeal (1094) - Land of Sugar, Texas, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Black w light brown head. Nose is of bourbon, spices, nutmeg. Taste is of roast malt, spices, bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium-thin with mouth-coating aftertaste. This is their Yule Shoot your Eye Out aged in bourbon barrel and is much better in this fashion. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Sampled at thirdeye11’s birthday party. Glad I got to try this one.
Pours a dark reddish-brown color. The nose is full of cinnamon and a few other spices, as well as some oak and a bit of whiskey. The flavor is similar. The spices come through strong even though there is a good bit of bourbon and oak in the flavor. The barrel aging also adds a nice vanilla quality to the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. TwinBeer (58) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 18, 2012
The spices are easy to smell.. really good smelling beer
Caramel and bourbon is easy to pickup in the taste. I won’t lie and say I can pick out all of the individual spices... but man they mix well. This is a super swell beer in my opinion. More complex than Yule Shoot your eye out with a bit more of a bourbon finish.
