Very dark, almost black in color with a tan head. Tastes of cocoa and bourbon with a smooth bourban aftertaste.

Bottle shared at gregwilsonstls tasting. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of coconut, licorice, cocoa, chocolate, vanilla and a touch of coffee. The taste was similar to the aroma with more dark chocolate, vanilla, dark sugars, caramel, nuts, hints of coffee and syrup. Very good stuff.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2016 Dark, dark mahogany in color, cappuccino head, thin and whispy. Aroma of roasted cherry, heavy woodiness, vanilla, chocolate. Flavor was big, sweet, roasty, a tad smokey. Rolled into a nice chocolate covered cherry finish with hints of alcohol. Some lacto and chocolate frango rolls in nicely as it warms.

Sampled at gregwilsons tasting. Very dark brown. Just a little blotchy foam. This smells good. The whiskey is gentle in the aroma. I like that. Big malts. The flavor is the same. Good! Huge malts. Wood is not that big but adds some nice touches. A little vanilla. Delicious.

Bottle, 12/25/2015. Pours a black color, wispy light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, mild coffee, vanilla toffee, bourbon, dry roast malts. Taste is bourbon, a bit boozy, chocolate caramel, vanilla, bitter roast. Medium heavy body, creamy. Nice overall.

Great beer - This is comparable to a bourbon county, but is not as hot. It has a little more of the vanilla profile which I like. The vanilla version of this is absolutely phenomonal. SP? Anyway, this is a beer that is worth the price. Anything under $15 for a bottle is worth it. If you like bourbon aged beers, this is a good one.

Bottle thanks to Cloaker! Pours deep clear reddish black, medium creamy brown head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is bourbon, raisins, oak, molasses, brown sugar, cherries. Pretty standard aroma profile for a well crafted BA barleywine actually. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, rich toffee notes, cherry, vanilla, bourbon. Minimal acidity, which is nice. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Good beer.

Its a pretty standard roasty bourbon barrel imperial porter. Not remarkable but good flavors and good aroma.
