Bourbon comes through in the nose. Almost no lace. A little bitter at first but is eventually balanced out with the bourbon and then finishes with somewhat of a coffee aftertaste. stephenj007 (124) - Houston, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2014
F.U.N. Series 003 2012! Wow...this beer is quite the bomb! Big bomber bottle poured and sampled in a beer snifter. The balanced attributes in this brew are exceptional. Bourbon barrel aged brews typically are a bit heavy on the bourbon flavors and aromas, but this brew has balanced it all perfectly. Leaning a tad on the sweeter side, but not too much.
The oak and alcohol aromas are smooth. Also some nice tootsie roll, smoke and roast malts aroma present. The taste has got to be the star of this brew...nothing is overpowering, You get the mouth of bourbon alcohol without the burn, a bit of hops up front, the sweet malt notes on the end.
The finish sticks around slightly, as a way of reminding you that the bottle is waiting to pour again....
My plan is to buy another bottle and use it as a base for a BBQ sauce....
and an extra bottle to age for a bit again.... BoBoChamp (5878) - Gent, BELGIUM - OCT 25, 2014
65cl, Vintage 2013, no mention of ABV, as Karbach No. 007 ’(Barrel Aged) Hellfighter’, new exclusive American brew, thx alot to Koen for sharing!, complex Porter, roasted/malty/woody and slightly alcoholic/sweet/fruity, yet not too heavy, balanced, hazy, small head, very good brew Dogbrick (13751) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 18, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2014 Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium khaki head that recedes gradually. Partial top ring of lace. Bourbon, vanilla and malt in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky vanilla, bourbon and chocolate malt. The finish is roast malt and bourbon. Pretty good overall. wisdomsolo (472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - AUG 7, 2014

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2015 On tap at the Big Hops Growler Station in San Antonio during a Karbach tap takeover.
Excellent appearance with an exceptionally creamy and durable tan head.
Excellent use of barrel aging: The whisky and wood are prominent but do not bury the fine porter base. Near perfect bitter/sweet balance. Very smooth fulll body with spot on carbonation.
O: highly recommended. Crispy34 (496) - Texas, USA - JUN 8, 2014
Draft. Aroma is dark malt an some oak with some bourbon. Appearance is a dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Taste is bourbon with some dark malt. Palate is a boozy aftertaste. Overall, an ok beer. Boozy as all get out.

Pours a nice black color with minimal tan head. Not a whole lot of carbonation on this. Vanilla, bourbon, oak and some dark fruit on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a nice warm sensation from the barrels. Tejas (1008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 28, 2014
Draught > Meddlesome Moth. Menu said F.U.N. 005. Damn Karbach makes some great beers. I think they’re the best brewer in Texas. Super smooth and not too boozy and good vanilla flavors. Great beer. jcartamdg (3534) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 20, 2014
Pours jet black with a thin mocha head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, molasses and vanilla. Taste is roasty chocolate, coffee and bourbon. Way too carbed. Not bad, the excess carbonation just ruins this for me.
