Pours pitch black with a finger of creamy tan head. Smells of rich chocolate and bourbon, with hints of vanilla as it warms. Taste is chocolate bourbon, literally. Full-bodied with a thick, smooth, creamy texture and super soft mouth-carbonation, Karbach (Buffalo Trace) Bourbon Barrel Aged Hellfighter finishes with a light warming bourbon alcohol effect. keith0718 (434) - Kansas, USA - DEC 13, 2014
This might be the most delicious beer I’ve ever tasted. Besides having a perfect porter flavor, this beer had a creamy quality that was out of this world. gregfleischman (5) - Texas, USA - JAN 4, 2013 does not count
Poured from a bomber bottle. Dark brown almost black body. tan head that dissipates. Bourbon nose, smoked wood, leather. Taste is coffee, little sweet molasses, medium body. Aftertaste is burnt and bourbon. Warms as it goes down. Great beer. atxdiscgolfer (4) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 23, 2013 does not count
This is the best porter that i have ever tried, the only other porter that comes close in my opinion is the 512 Bourbon Barrel Pecan Porter. The beer has strong hints of a fine bourbon, hints of chocolate, and has a smoky aroma. Try this while it is available you will be pleased. johnnybeers99 (21) - Texas, USA - APR 24, 2015
This beer is fantastic. Flavors are chocolate, roasty, malt, bourbon, dark fruits and just plain fantastic. This beer was way better than most if not all bourbon barrel beers I have tried. BCBS and all the other posers should get in line. Total home run. WIsh I would have bought all of them. Nice job Karbach! Again !

Midnight dark beer w/ moonlight white head. smell of bourbon, leather an biscuit. Taste of toffee and coffee with a sweet bourbon and a light bitterness and carmel after taste. Over all one of my favorites from Karbach and a great set on the couch and relax beers. Redr8r (14) - Texas, USA - JUL 24, 2015
Warm bourbon and vanilla to the nose. Wonderful warmth of bourbon and vanilla continues on the tongue with a hint of caramel and coffee. It is like liquid candy. Highly recommended.

I love this beer. A bourbon barrel stout with vanilla added. Very nice. But it's hard to find. I was limited to two bottles. Very enjoyable. AugieSD (6) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 17, 2015 does not count
Great beer - This is comparable to a bourbon county, but is not as hot. It has a little more of the vanilla profile which I like. The vanilla version of this is absolutely phenomonal. SP?
Anyway, this is a beer that is worth the price. Anything under $15 for a bottle is worth it.
If you like bourbon aged beers, this is a good one. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - FEB 2, 2013
Houston, we have a winner. This stuff is AMAZING. Pours a perfect black with a thick head of beige. Aroma is bourbon, bourboned wood, caramel, and light vanilla. Flavor is bourbon, bourboned wood, caramel, a little more bourbon, and a little more wood, with a touch of toffee in the finish. Thick and lingering on the tongue. Holy moly. This is AWESOME.
