Great floral berry sweet tannic nose.Slightly pink gold with off white head. Nice integration of tannic berry senses into a hoppy beer.
Generous extra from cloaked-thanks! Slightly cloudy magenta tinged orange. Nose of caramel malts, light red wine. Full bodied, caramel malts, red wine and oak barrel. This worked for me and much better than I expected. Batch 10 edition (2014) enjoyed April 2015. Sammy (12178) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 5, 2015
Bottle at the brewery. Tannins kick up the taste profile. Big lasting head. Vg drinkability. Travlr (24632) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 19, 2014
Draft. Clear reddish amber color, off white head. Aroma has port wine, tannins, light fruit. Taste starts with sweet malt, dark fruit, pine. Exceeded my expectations. dfinney23 (3268) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 10, 2014
I generally prefer to overwhelm my senses with darker, maltier fare but this is the sort of DIPA that keeps tempting me to the, uh, "Light Side". Great balance and interesting vinous notes from the wine barrel aging. beastmaster (381) - Florida, USA - NOV 1, 2014
Bottle as 010 bodacious. Big frothy 2 finger head pour. Amber orange color. Aroma of red wine? Really didn’t expect that immediately, but it was aged in red wine barrels. Rosey flora smell, malty, and some light hopy notes. Brilliant move with the red wine barrels No bitterness. Medium body. Way too drinkable for a double IPA. This can go down quick. This is a wine drinkers IPA. Clever beer. Big fan.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish amber, medium puffy beige head, dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, some oak, cardboard, and bit of vinous. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, oaky, piney, vinous. A bit harsh and biting. Medium body. Somewhat hot. lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - AUG 21, 2014
In stemware from tap. Pours a nice brown red with just a bit of head. Faint sweet aroma. Mouth feel is very light with some refreshing carbonation. Taste is hoppy and sweet in equal combinations but neither is too intense. The merlot cask really comes through. A yummy DIPA that doesn’t beat you over the head! markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 16, 2014
Bottle courtesy of one of the fine members of the Tampa Crew. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Nose is big citrus, some caramel, noticeable vinous character with oak and wine with hints of apricot. Flavor starts off with caramel and assertive citrus hops then fading to reveal vinous oak and red wine, finishing of somewhat dry with the wine lingering. Medium in body and an interesting combination of flavors overall. jcartamdg (3436) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 31, 2014
Pours an amber orange with a thick white head. Aroma of red wine and loads of malt. Taste is bitter, hoppy, loads of red wine. This is weird in an interesting way. Glad to have tried it but not something I’d go back to madmitch76 (24785) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 28, 2014

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Colin. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is crisp and light. Food fine carbonation. Light malt. Whisper of vanilla. Light marmalade. Little hop and wood bitterness. Light red wine tang. Light bitter finish. Nice combo of marmalade and red wine. Tasty beer but really wants some dry hopping to bring the dipa character back. Hides the abv well.
