Bottle split at Pedro leaving drinks, from an IP trade, as 007 24/04/15.
Pitch black with a decent dirty tan head that retains well.
Nose is rich roast, spice, bourbon strains, charr, treacle toffee, chocolate.
Taste comprises cocoa powder, big bourbon strokes, treacle toffee, charr, chocolate fudge, malt.
Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a subtle booze streak.
Decent BA impy, bourbon not so subtle at times but a pretty balanced affair all told. Oakes (18543) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 30, 2016
Had this one on tap at the brewery. Medium brown. Bourbony nose. Quite sweet. Chocolate, and vanilla. Soft body. Basically adds vanilla to the regular basic Hellfighter, without a whole lot of nuance. jtclockwork (17100) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 6, 2014
Bottle at 7K/5K. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of woody oak, bourbon, roast chocolate, dark fruit, coffee and vanilla. Full bodied. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 29, 2012
Nearly black in color with soft carbonation. Intense vanilla and wood notes with a mild booziness. A nice roasted malt aroma, dark chocolate, and a hint of coffee. Just a bit of caramel sweetness. The flavor is quite nice with a nice chocolate, caramel, and roast combination along with the intense barrel flavors of bourbon, wood, and vanilla. Still a touch boozy, but enjoyable.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a pitch black with small beige head. The aroma is smoke, oak and roast. Thin mouthfeel with a rich chocolate and smoke and vanilla with a long lingering light bitter finish. Alcohol present but not too overpowering. A very good Imperial porter from Karbach.
Thinner beer for its type. Very bourbonny, slight tartness, decent but not amazing. Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 18, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2014 Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium khaki head that recedes gradually. Partial top ring of lace. Bourbon, vanilla and malt in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky vanilla, bourbon and chocolate malt. The finish is roast malt and bourbon. Pretty good overall.
