Draught from the brewery in 2015. Deep brown with serous vanilla notes and oak. Well done

22 oz. bottle via trade. Thanks again, Bryan! 2013 vintage. I got it back when it was fresh, too. I had mostly forgotten about it until the recent AB InBev buyout news, so it reminded me to pull it out and I threw it in my bag to take home for Thanksgiving. It pours a deep, kind of hazy dark brown with a small tan head that settles into a ring and a couple bubbles. It’s still in good shape, too, although showing early signs of oxidation. Good barrel character, with plenty of oak, toasted sugar, subtle bourbon, and faint vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted malts, tobacco, and earth. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and an earthy, roasty, semi-sweet mouthfeel. Probably better fresh but this one ages just fine, too.

Shared 22 oz. bottle. Had this one in the fridge for a few months but given the InBev buyout, thought it would be best to finish this off. Pours almost black with an initially fizzy beige head that quickly recedes. Aroma of bourbon and oak. Taste is heavy bourbon, oak, roasted malt notes, and perhaps a hint of vanilla. Heavy body. Boozy finish. Overall, too much barrel.

Aroma: oaky and boozy; sweet; Appearance: murky black with thin offwhite head that dissipates quickly; Taste: follows nose; I think I like imperial stout in bourbon barrels more than imperial porter, but it’s okay; Palate: heavy body with long, sweet/bourbony finish; Overall: decent but not my favorite; would not get again.

22 ounce bottle. Pours black with a decent tan head. Aroma of malt, bourbon, and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, bourbon, dark chocolate, vanilla, and some dark fruit. Very good.

Pours nearly black with a thin beige head that dissipates quickly to a ring. Nose is bursting with roasted malt, chocolate cherry, umami, licorice, and hints of vanilla and smoke. Taste is on the bitter side, but the rich malts are ever present. Lively carbonation. A very well-balanced, luscious brew, full and creamy on the palate, with a long, boozy aftertaste. Excellent!

Tasted from bottle. Pours black with light tan head. Aroma is robust sweet bourbon, maple syrup, chocolate, caramel. Taste is quite complex. Moderate to heavily sweet with mild to moderate sweetness. Flavors of chocolate, maple syrup, toffee, caramel, vanilla and of course bourbon. Incredibly well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at pub. Very smooth especially for the 11.5% ABV. Malt forward with bourbon finish, nice change using a porter (ok, Imperial porter) instead of a stout.

caesar (7153) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 15, 2016
Bottle thx to Benzai, 2012 edition, large sample. Slight hazy dark brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma of cookie, slight roast, bit vanilla, some booze, dark choc, biscuit. Cookie and vanilla sweetness together with roast and dark choc in taste. Very nice.
