COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a job. And a hazardous one at that. Benefits, you ask. I hardly think so. From the depths of the earth leap flames of destruction. When time is of the essence, the Hellfighter boldly steps in the line of danger. Whether or not he’s insane is not important now. It’s with intensity and aggression that the Hellfighter taunts the blaze of almost certain doom. Our Imperial Porter is much the same. At 9.5% ABV and black as oil, Hellfighter Imperial Porter, with roasted coffee and chocolate malt characteristics, finishes what it started. This explosion of flavors will extinguish even a Texas-sized penchant for boldness. Intense and maybe a little insane, drink carefully but drink often. Blaze on!

651mL thanks to djd07. Muddy, deep brown pour with higher carbonation. Reverse cascade. Sheets of complete lacing. Nose is barleywine like with toffee, peanut fudge, maple, but also quite hoppy. Taste is thicker brown sugar, pine, earth, dark fruits. Similar to a black barleywine. Omnipresent hoppy balance is excellent. Dense, near sticky body. Interesting beer, I’d almost call it black barleywine instead of imperial porter

Opaque black pour with thick mocha head. Aroma of dark fruit, coffee, chocolate, roast. Quite a bit of booze too. Flavor is very bold. Opening still has a lot of raisin/plum flavor. Leads into chocolate and coffee flavor. Finishes pretty clean and sweet. ---Rated via iPhone

On tap at the Flying Saucer Garland BeerFeäst. Poured a perfect dark brown with a frothy tan top. Flavors of Cocoa, malty, boozy, roasted malts, and sweet malts. Medium carbonation, thick body. Damn good beer!

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours pitch black color with a nice 2 finger dense khaki head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, raisin, chocolate, roasted malt, floral, pine, toast, licorice, molasses, light coffee, and roasted earthiness. Ok aromas with solid balance of flavors; but is very weak and lacking prominent roasted malt qualities, with much more fruitiness present. Taste of caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, raisin, floral, pine, brown sugar, toast, licorice, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, toast, brown sugar, floral, pine, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice balance and complexity of roasted and dark malt flavors; with moderate amount of hop presence and some fairly astringent bitterness lingering after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very solid imperial porter. The weak aromas and astringent hoppiness really knocked it down for me; but this was still an enjoyable offering overall.

Cask at the Flying Saucer, Houston, 21/05/13. Mid black with a mahoosive light tan frothy head - looks the bollocks! Nose is dark roast malt, chocolate, dark fruits, toffee. Taste comprises light roast, malt, molasses, sugars, chocolate, toffee fudge, dark fruits, booze. Full bodied, soft carbonation - worked well via cask dispense, boozey dryish finish. Decent enough stuff, no world beater tho’.

Black pour with a khaki head. Nose is alcohol, sweet malts, bitter, and coffee. Nice on the palate, bitter malts upfront, followed by sweet and stickiness, boozy finish.

Bottle shared by ImstilltheGman... Black pour.... mocha head. Nose is a little boozy, oakey, roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate... Taste isnt as boozy as the nose... Just the right amount of oak, vanilla, bourbon. Roasted malts, light chocolate slight bitterness to balance it out. The alcohol is a little warming but not over the top. Medium carbonation, little oily, creamy... easy to drink. Overall: Nice impy strong porter

Ahh, finally! Can’t believe I missed this one last year. Hella black with a taste to match -- chocolate milk with a shot of espresso.
