Spice, fruit, malt. Dark brown/black with a quickly dispersing cream colored head. More spice, cocoa, fruit. Glassy smooth, sweet. Very slight bitterness on the very end. This is a really nice beer. superspak (5583) - Michigan, USA - FEB 5, 2013
Got this in a trade with icetrauma, thanks man. 22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but was bottled recently. Pours fairly clear extremely dark reddish brown color with a nice 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, chocolate, toffee, raisin, fig, toast, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, brown sugar, dark bread, light roast, and light herbal. Excellent aromas with great complexity, strength, and balance of malt/spice notes; very inviting. Taste of caramel, chocolate, toffee, raisin, fig, toast, dark bread, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, brown sugar, light roast, and herbal. Light spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, dark fruit, toast, toffee, dark bread, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, light roast, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice flavor balance, complexity, and robustness; with a great malt/spice balance; and minimal cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent winter warmer style! Great balance and robustness of flavors and spices; and extremely smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering. Bottle. Pours a beautiful mahogany with a nose of cinammon, speamint, and light grass. Flavor is cinammon, cocoa, light vanilla, spearmint, and sugar. Lingers on the tongue. Nice beer. Must be Italian. onceblind (9627) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 27, 2012
Clear black with a thin beiege foamy head that doesnt last long. The aroma is phenominal and is exactly what one looks for in a winter warmer, in that it smells like a cookie. Nose of cocoa and cinnamon and dark creamy cake. However the flavor is not very cookie-like, and turns out to be kinda bitter. Taste starts kinda dark and earthy but quicly gets a lot of cocoa nibb-bitterness and herbal spiciness, with ginger and cinnamon quickly following. Kinda sweet but with a strong bitterness that cuts through all that kinda like an IPA, but not very hoppy. And full of cabinet spice flavors as well, like nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, and orange peel. Weird, but I dug it.. brewballs (215) - USA - NOV 28, 2013
Good seasonal ale. Dark, espresso hue. Soft ,lacy head. Sugary notes. A bit spicy. Smooth washdown. Seems like it needs to hike up on the abv level. A pretty basic ale. Typically fall/winters need an extra kick that separates one brew from another. Yule needs to integrate something smokey or perhaps using more distinct spices to play on sweet and bitter flavors. Good but not great. Buy it. Say you did buy then keep shopping around for a better Christmas Ale.

Aroma: The aroma is full of Christmas spices, cinnamon, chocolate, etc.
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a decent tab head on it
Flavor: The taste is much the same, heavy on the spice, some cake, plenty of sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent feel, and a long finish on the mouth

On tap at local bar. Pours a hazy deep toffee brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edge. Aroma has a good amount of dark grain with roast and a nice spice with nutmeg. Flavor is nicely spiced with roasted malts, dark grains and a hint of bitter chocolate. dnstone (3404) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - NOV 9, 2012
Pours a murky amber-brown with nice tan-off-white head. Aroma is fresh, spiced, caramel, and bread crust. Spicey and balanced taste with roasted edges. The is a perfect holiday beer to me, really captures flavors that go with the season. Maverick34 (3238) - New York, USA - NOV 15, 2015
Canned in htown. Brown pour. Serious spices and some nutty malts, as well as a plummyness. Pretty nice.
