UPDATED: MAR 8, 2004 Bottle, at the Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Excellent Dunkel (or is it hefeweizen?), which is remarkably complex for the style. Plenty of sourish, appley, fruit flavour in here, with a delicious lingering yeasty aftertaste. This is ruddy, hazy, brown colour, with a big fluffy head. It's light and very moreish. Bottle from Beers of Europe. Cloudy, dark brown colour with a generous light brown/off-white head. Aroma is sour apples and banana. Nice complex taste; fruity, bananas, some caramel. Sweet then sour. Lovely, prolonged slightly yeasty aftertaste. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Very nice; a class Dunkles. Nekronos (4175) - Xalapa, MEXICO - SEP 14, 2006
This was good, more Dark than in the picture. The foam was good, the flavour and the aroma, nice, cold enough, the after taste is a little sweet and the cloudy is different. Aldrighetti (163) - Coltura, ITALY - SEP 29, 2003
Bottled, served at the brewery restaurant. Very large, rocky off-white head, light brown colour, cloudy. Head mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma of ripe fruit (apple, banana, pear), clove, on a base of toasted malt. Light yeasty. Flavor is initial sweet, light refreshing tartness in the finish. Medium body, oily, lively carbonation. darkseduction (742) - Zweibrücken, GERMANY - MAR 26, 2008

Forced draught at the GBBF 2008. Murky brown opaque colour, big head. Very nice aroma of malts, lemons, banana and cloves. Same elements in the flavour, this is the most lemony dunkelweizen I’ve had. Good stuff. Theydon_Bois (19506) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2012
On tap at the Battersea Beer Festival (Feb ’12).
It harldy looks fit for drinking! Murky/cloudy yellow/brown like a cross between dirty canal water and a banana smoothie! Frothy tan head and a decent one at that. Good aroma’s come off this beer, all the usual suspects for the style, banana, clove, maybe something sweet in there too, vanilla/cream/caramel?
Top notch in the tasting department, toffee, caramel, banana, clove, a little yeast and a bit more ’nana for good measure.
Mouthfeel also top notch, rich, creamy, massages the throat as it goes down, fairly low carbonation.
Overall I really enjoyed this beer.
Bierkrug (2129) - - NOV 9, 2013
500 ml bottle from Orterer in Garmisch. Pours a dark cloudy brown with a full tan thick head. A great looking beer. Aroma is rich dark overripe bananas. Taste is a crisp but not sweet version of the aroma. Palate is smooth but tart. A good solid Dunkle Wiesse. shrubber85 (11402) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - DEC 5, 2004
Bottle. Spicy (clove/pepper) banana aroma. Cloudy dark tan color with medium head. Initial taste of sour malt with slight clove and bananas in the middle and a very nice yeast finish. Nice body. A nice dunkelweizen if you don’t like sweet flavors.
