Karhupanimon Cascade Weizen on kullankeltainen ja hedelmäissen raikas suodattamaton vehnäolut, joka on valmistettu perinteiseen baijerilaistyyliin. Pehmeän kukkaisan aromin täydentää kevyt katkero humalointi ja sitrusmaisen raikas jälkihumalointi.

Draft. Orange pour with white head, very very hazy. Boring wheat, some light citrus and hop tones aromas. Flavor is mild to boring. Nothing to see here.

Draught @ Kitty’s, Helsinki

Pours orange with a hazy head. Aroma has hints of banana and grass. Taste starts out smooth with banana notes but hops and citrusy fruitness kicks in fast. A bit light bodied, but otherwise nicely balanced.

mile (4002) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 16, 2011
Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki. Light amber, cloudy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - wheaty sweetish flavor, banana and fruitiness. Body is medium, malty - wheaty and sweetish, banana and fruitiness, light citrus hoppyness.Finish is average, mallty - wheaty, lightly sweetish and fruity, faint banana and citrus hoppyness. OK hefe weizen with faint citrus hoppyness.

jookos (6908) - FINLAND - MAY 2, 2011
Draught @ Rotterdam. Slightly darker orange than most german hefes, cloudy, full. A slight cascadeish citrusy/herbs on the nose (probably undetectable unless you’re looking for it), otherwise much like most non-german german weizes: a bit low on the esters, more wheaty and not that interesting. Not watery though, overall quite enjoyable.

Draught at William K. Mannerheimintie, Helsinki, Finland.
Dark brown orange colour with big off-white head. Yeast, wheat, grain and some fruitiness in aroma. Very dry grainy flavour with wheat and yeast. I didn’t really catch the Cascade but still drinkable.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2013 Tap @ Rotterdam, Helsinki 29/04/11. Pours a cloudy dark orange/brown with a large, foamy head. Aroma is grapefruity hops with hefeish banana and some bubblegum as well as wheat. Taste is hefeish banana and loads of bubblegum spiced up with grapefruity and floral hoppiness. Palate is crisp and refreshing, not watery at all. A nice blend of sour wheat, bitter hops and sweet hefeishness.

6 Big banana hefeweissen aroma. Nice.
4 Rich orange, big tight white head.
6 Full wheaty taste, lots of banana. Just what you want from a weizen.
3 Refreshing palate, crisp carbonation. Perhaps not full and succulent enough for the typical hefe 4 score.
13 Not really getting cascade, but it’s a very tasty wheat beer.
Rerate: Tap (Kitty’s, Helsinki) (7:4:5+:3-:10=2.9)
7 Absurdly fun wheat beer aroma. Full of all the sweet and bold corriander aromas you’d expect, and massive fruitiness, not just banana, but something sharper too.
4 Hazy light orange. Tight small head.
5+ Slightly chemical retronasals, tiny hint of cleaning fluid. It’s a great full weizen taste, but the chemical spikes are too imposing.
3- Full palate, but harsh carbonation. Finish leaves a nice little bitter tingle, but my tongue tastes metal on my teeth now. And my gums hurt. Vapours in teh mouth are beautifully hoppy though. This one’s a split vote - real good, or real bad.
10 A disappointment after the great start, but it’s got too many flaws. I so wanted this to be a classic.

Hazy deep orange color, big creamy off-white head. Banana-wheaty nose with hints of citrus. Crisp carbonation. Banana weizen-like sweetness, but also nicely balanced citrus from Cascade. Citrusy finish - another ok beer from Karhupanimo.

mjs (7510) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 8, 2011
(Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki, 20110407) The beer poured orange and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, banana and pine. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, hops, pine, banana, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. The hoppiness wasn’t overdone but it gave nice crispness to this beer instead.

oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 7, 2011
[email protected] Slightly hazy golden colour with small white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast and some mild floral and citrusy notes along with some herbs. Flavour is wheat, mild yeast, some citrusy and some mild grassy notes.
