hazy darkish amber with a foamy near beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, treacle and maybe bourbon/vanilla. Med body. Flavor is dark fruit, treacledark fruits, toffee and a bit of root-beer. The palate is somewhat uneven starting thin and building to a thick and pasty conclusion. The carbonation is lively and the alcohol is well hidden. Finishes very long and dry with a lingering aftertaste of bourbon and anise. Overall: Crazy good brew, fans of bourbon barrel aged beers will want to try this one. hamilton23 (619) - Alpine, California, USA - FEB 4, 2012
On tap at KnB. Pours a nice copper color with a bit of off-white head. Aroma is tons of bourbon, caramel, some dried fruits and vanilla. Taste follows the nose. Slightly sweet, with a nice amount of caramel and dried fruits. An incredibly well balanced beer. The high ABV is very well hidden. Nice job. I cannot wait for these bottles to be released. richiesd (31) - California, USA - FEB 17, 2012
On tap @ Karl Strauss Sorrento Valley 2/16
This was quite a surprise! Not overly hot (I’m sure it’ll be negligible with some time). Pours a nice light brown with good carbonation. A nice, pleasant sweetness that isn’t overpowering. The bourbon character is strong still, which actually adds to the flavor instead of distracting from it. Lots of toffee, caramel, bourbon, oak on the taste, really quite a treat honestly. From a bar that is literally across the street from my work, I’m very disappointed that I didn’t find out about this beer 2 weeks ago, but I’ll be sure to get my fill before the kegs finally kick. 650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber-brown color with a small off-white head that soon fizzes down to a fine film and ring. The nose is dominated by bourbon whiskey with vanilla, sherry and something sassafras-like. The taste is rich and complex with bourbon flavors and oak. Besides whiskey, the taste also features, vanilla, sherry, dark fruits, toffee and a bit of root-beer. The palate is somewhat uneven starting thin and building to a thick and pasty conclusion. The carbonation is lively and the alcohol is well hidden. Finishes very long and dry with a lingering aftertaste of bourbon and anise. Overall: Crazy good brew, fans of bourbon barrel aged beers will want to try this one. bhensonb (15617) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 9, 2012
Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Fred’s the man. Pours hazy darkish amber with a foamy near beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, treacle and maybe bourbon/vanilla. Med body. Flavor is dark fruit, treacle, chocolate, bourbon/vanilla and some astringent oak. Nothing overpowering here, but it’s reasonably complex and everything works well together. Didn’t notice the heat until it hit my lower throat - very warming down there. It’s fruity bourbon in the finish - not too strong - just about right. This is really well done.

Clear reddish amber pour. Off white head. Caramel, vanilla, oak, bourbon aroma. Flavor is loaded with sweet caramel, bourbon, vanilla, some light bitterness on the finish. Reminds me of the FW anniversary beers a lot. LtDan (1806) - Los Angeles County, California, USA - JUN 2, 2012
Appearance: Pours a dark red with no head.arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 21, 2012
Aroma: Faint maple syrup and brandy. Fruit like pear and apple.
Taste: Brown sugar with a dusting of Euro hops, chocolate, whiskey, wood, maple syrup.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, sticky.
Overall: A beautiful sipper that will probably age really well. I am happy with the results of letting this years anniversary beer age for an entire year.
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks Aaron for the pour! Dark brownish red with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, bourbon, toffee, hints of biscuit, touch of vanilla and rich burnt notes in there. Taste is a nice mix of sweet vanilla, bourbon, hints of caramel and dark fruit, touch of biscuit, toffee, hints of spicy dark fruits, finishing fairly sweet, but very tasty. Like this for sure! blutt59 (6576) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 18, 2012

22 oz. bottle from Sea Trader Liquor & Deli - Pours a slightly hazy deep copper color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Very light lacing. Aroma is oak/bourbon, toasted malt, esters, and vanilla. Very nice. Flavor is much of the same. Finish is soft and smooth. Alcohol is noticeable, but not overbearing. An excellent beer.
