Bomber poured a hazy golden amber with a small lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, skunk bud, grapefruit, pine, tropical fruit, melon and light peach. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, skunk bud, pine, earthiness, light tropical fruit and a hint of melon with a smooth dry moderatly bitter lingering grapefruit finish. Very tasty indeed! jonno (3042) - JAPAN - OCT 16, 2012
Huge passionfruit nose - I thought this must be galaxy hopped, not Nelson. Fairly straight forward DIPA body and texture wise, toffee, caramel and a bit helping of citrus and passionfruit. Very tropical. Unique and fun. TimE (6353) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 14, 2012
Definitely the best thing I’ve had from these guys. Big floral piney nose with pale malt in the background. The hops hit the tongue on initial sip. Full bodied, moderately dry, nice malt backbone. Well balanced. A fair amount of tropical fruit. Very nice IIPA. SHIG (5300) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - SEP 27, 2012

Bottle consumed at Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours reddish copper with a thick off-white head and a sweet citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a balanced hoppiness.

Bottle. Pours orange with white head. Nose/taste of orange, dark caramel, grapefruit and oak. A bit boozy at times for an IPA. Medium body. Finishes slightly boozy orange with hints of dry resin/pine. cooplander (543) - Florida, USA - MAR 25, 2012

This DIPA pours a clear copper color with a ton of bubbles floating up top. Fluffy white two finger heads. Good lacing throughout the glass.
Now since Alpine Nelson is the only beer I can think about when I think about Nelson hops, you might hear me compare this beer to Nelson. Alpine Nelson was a much more balanced mix of a APA and an IPA. This beer is a full on DIPA. Alcohol is definitely noticeable and it’s a beer that is rough around the edges. Still a fantastic mixture hops, malt, and fruits. Mango, grapefruit, citrus, and grape undertones. There are other kinds of hops used this beer and you’ll pick those up to in the aroma and taste of pine. The backbone is primarily caramel malt.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and more on the heavy side of medium. It’s smooth and goes down really nice. There’s a very bitter aftertaste that just sits on your tongue. User134089 (1644) - - JAN 28, 2012
Poured from a bomber into a pint glass. Color was honey orange. About a finger width of head. Dusty white lacing on the top with some bubbles in the middle. Sporadic film on the sides, but not as much as I thought there would be.
Smelled huge hops right in the beginning. Citrus hops as expected with grapefruit seeming to be the leader. Also tangerine in there, too.
Tasted a bit stronger on the alcohol side than I expected. Tons of citrus hops. Seemed to be more tangerine than grapefruit, but it was tough to tell. Bitter on the tongue after.
Medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Bitter abrupt finish.
I had high hopes for this beer, but it didn’t quite live up to my billing. I’d probably try it again though.
