Definitely the best thing I’ve had from these guys. Big floral piney nose with pale malt in the background. The hops hit the tongue on initial sip. Full bodied, moderately dry, nice malt backbone. Pours a shade darker than a classic golden color. The liquid is crystal clear. An eggshell colored, fat, clumpy head forms quickly. Butterscotch, lemon esters, and somewhat earthy bouquet. Mouthfeel is full, cottony, slick, and maybe a bit oily. Some mild butterscotch (not diacetyl) and some sweeter citrus esters in the flavor. UPDATED: NOV 2, 2013 22oz. Bottle. Golden amber, with nice big fluffy head, which hangs on to the sides. Malty nose mixed with fruity hops. Big flavors of sweet malts with fruits like mango and pineapple. Hop flavors along with well balanced bitterness. Some burn in the finish. Usually I don’t like my Imp IPAs too malty, but there is almost enough hop to counter this.

Costa Mesa Karl Strauss place: happy hour on-tap $4.00 pint on 9th July 2014. Light amber pour with a thin white wisp for a head. Bitter and hoppy from the start, I really enjoyed it. Bottle on my 2nd day in San Jose(10/11). Clear brilliant gold under a dissipating white head. Big grapefruit aroma with some burnt caramel, floral and some resin. Taste was smooth delightful grapefruit, tolerable bitterness, mild oak tones. Very floral as well. Big body, long nice linger, with a small boozy warmth. Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 200615
