[ As Karl Strauss Blackball Belgian IPA ].
Clear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, dusty hops. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet hops - malt, fruity, oranges, hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
"One of their nicer beers at the Carlsbad Brewery. A nice aroma of belgian spice and orange peel. Moderate bitternes in the flavor, but a good dose of the citrus and yeasty flavor. Light, but good."

Trübes dunkel goldenes Bier mit einer ordentlichen weißen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, fruchtig, hefig, Honig. Geschmack süß malzig, Honig, reife Früchte. jookos (6948) - FINLAND - FEB 18, 2015
Bottle. Orange hazy. Fruity nose. Oranges, belgy blond estery vibes, golden honey light corn malty. Some straw, hay. Mouthfilling body, lots of Orange, slight marmelady, sweets, finishes clean though. Quite soft, lots of round bitters, some pine in the finish. IPA (even a belgian one) isn’t the first thing that comes to mind with this drink. Rather imperial belgy blondy, but with a clean nice non-oily texture. Qutie enjoyable. Can’t bother look for a BBE, but I’m sure this is a bit old already, the IPAish hoppy notes that might have supposed to have been there have, if ever present, surely mallowed out some time ago.

Honig, Fruchtnoten, Getreide. Bananig, hefig, herb, leichte Bitterkeit. Anständiges belgian IPA. cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - JUL 6, 2011
22 oz. bottle from BevMo (SD) - Pours a hazy amber color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Aroma is toasted malt. That’s it! Flavor is lightly sweetened toasted malt with some light malt and esters. Has an odd lingering finish. Medium body. I have no clue to how old this bottle is, but it’s not the best 2IPA I’ve had.
