Mahogany pour with a khaki head. Chocolate, dark fruit, prunes, and a bit of soy sauce. Sweet caramel, mild roast, and some cola. Very malty flavor. Caramel, mild roast, chocolate, and dark fruit. Light cola and prunes, yeast, and some spice. Nice full mouthfeel.

Pours a light brown with a small off white head. aroma is of sweet malts, toffee, baked bread, and some caramel. Taste is of sweet malts, caramel, toffee, and some fruits. Has a medium body with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a slightly bitter, but mostly sweet finish. overall, a decent doppelbock that could use a little more complexity. Growler to go from Sorrento Mesa: Deep red-amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and a hint of fruit. Flavor starts malty sweet with hints of dark fruit followed by a hint of cherry and a light bitterness in the finish. Medium body is creamy with moderate carbonation.
