Not going to go into details as this is a style I don’t drink often or know well. That said, I LOVED this beer. Got a growler of it from the local restaurant and drank it all the next night. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 29, 2008

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours ruddy amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma of medium stone fruit and slightly roasted malt. Med + body. Flavor is medium dark fruit, smooth roast caramel. Quite smooth. A bit of chocolate after awhile. Later, even lightly spicy. Very nice beer. papajohn (1250) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - APR 1, 2011
Growler to go from Sorrento Mesa: Deep red-amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and a hint of fruit. Flavor starts malty sweet with hints of dark fruit followed by a hint of cherry and a light bitterness in the finish. Medium body is creamy with moderate carbonation. Alcohol is warming in the tummy. Thanks WeeHeavySD for entering this beer. This rating has been sitting in my wallet for months waiting for someone to enter the beer. I’ve tried it once or twice at Karl Strauss Carlsbad. Looks great. Deep red color. Small microfoam off-white head. Mild aroma. A little malty. Taste is decent. Leans sweet. Tastes a little young. Maybe a touch of vegetal or something, but still very good. Easy to drink. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 26, 2013

On tap at the Old Columbia brewpub. pours brown with a thin white head. Has a fruity aroma. The flavor is sweet with a mild bitterness. The most dramatic thing is its wine-like nature. Delicious but too sweet for the style. skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Pours a light brown with a small off white head. aroma is of sweet malts, toffee, baked bread, and some caramel. Taste is of sweet malts, caramel, toffee, and some fruits.
