Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy and light open, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, coffee, woody notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap @ Karl Strauss Costa Mesa. Black pour with a thick khaki head. Dry, acidic roasted malt aroma. Coffee grounds, dark chocolate, and earth/dirt on the nose. Flavors are bitter dark chocolate, roast, and coffee grounds. Acidic and dry. Earthy, lightly sweet, a bit burnt.
