Brown with tan head. Roasted grain, nutty aroma. Tastes like toast, cereal, nuts and Kellogg’s Postem. Dry maltiness with little hop presence. Not sure why they bothered calling it a Belgian-Style brown ale as it is nothing like any Belgian Bruin I have ever had. BrewBoxer (2664) - New York, New York, USA - DEC 6, 2013
Draft at maryjanes in the hard rock hotel. Pours a deep brown color with a malty nut taste with vanilla and toasty. Decent but a little too sweet

On tap @ Karl Strauss Costa Mesa. Brown pour with a slight haze and khaki head. Aroma is toasted malt, peppery spices, and sweet banana and fruit esters. A touch of nuts and chocolate as well. Flavor has a nice sweetness and minimal bitterness. Some spices, chocolate, nuts, and toast. Good banana, caramel, and bread. Pretty decent beer. Bottle from Quik Stop Croner: Poured a burnt brown color with a fluffy topping of foamed head. Has a very distinct aroma which is kind of hard for me to describe other than the fact that there is toffee like malts and some yeast present with light spicing, but somehow comes across subtle and not smelling like the real deal. The flavor is sweet at first but then leaves behind a harsh aftertaste as though this has a higher alcohol content then the bottle stated, and I have to admit the yeast in the taste does has a nice spicy touch too that goes well with the caramel like malts. Don’t feel this is authentic as the other artisan ales out there in the market made in the states, but a decent effort on behalf of the godfather of brew or so Karl is proclaimed. Bright copper/red color with light tan head. Rootbeer spice, toffee, vegetal celery, aromas. Medium body. Caramel, celery, nutty, dry spice, herbal flavors--ok.

caramel color with thick head, slight dry taste on palate, malt taste really good cold! quiznoaz (310) - Arizona, USA - MAR 17, 2012
Stolen from Minnie and Mickey. Kids shouldn’t be seeing them drink it anyway. That just gives the wrong message. The caramel malt does go nicely on a chilly, rainy day, and the alcohol burn at the end isn’t that strong and gives hope that the 10th ride on "Its a Small World" will pass eventually. haddon90 (1634) - Newport Beach, California, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear dark copper color with a thin white head. Nice, Belgian aroma with a sense of malt. Interesting combo. Sweet taste with a lasting malt presence. Very solid brew! Wittales (884) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - FEB 25, 2012
