12oz bottle. Rating #49. Very dark amber/red pour, almost ruby with a tan head, really a nice looking brew. Sweet malty aroma, spice (sweet) yeasty belgian thing going on as well. Sweet flavor, a little grape action going on here, light toast. Pretty good. (1486). jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - FEB 12, 2011
THANKS to Ibrew2or3-Tampa Weekly Gathering @OTH-12oz bottle-pours an offwhite head with trailing lace and dark amber color. Aroma is medium malt-roasty/toffee, spice/pine hops, dusty. Taste is medium malt-chocolate/roasty/toffee, spice/pine hops, dusty, clove. Towards medium body. Good, drinkable beer. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 9, 2011
12oz bottle pours clear copper with off white head. The aroma is roasty malts, spicy yeast, cloves, coriander, a touch dusty and more yeast. The taste offers up various malts and spiciness with roasted malts, a sliver or two of caramel, cloves, allspice, coriander and yeastiness. Wow. The spices, roasted malts and sense of caramel all go very well together here and it finishes up with a mild note of red apple. Tasty stuff. Tmoney99 (14492) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 3, 2011
Draft sample. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweety malt and small yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Bottle… Clear, deep copper ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Great retention. The bouquet is of chocolate malt, banana and dark fruit esters overlying a modest clove phenol. Full-bodied and creamy with tingly carbonation. The flavor awards milk chocolate and dried dark fruits – complex. Lengthy, mashy, bittersweet, dark fruit finish.

12 ounce bottle pours darkish brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma is roasty with fresh wheat bread maltiness and some mild banana pith. Flavor is slightly sour with a medicinal artificial grape tinge atop a standard brown-malts-fermented-by-belgian-yeast-strain base. A little nuttiness too. Tastes almost exactly like New Belgium 1554, except with more body. Marginally better than the inexplicably overrated 1554. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 23, 2011
Bottle from BevMo Arden. Pours dark brown with a nice beige head and a vanilla aroma. There is a rich coffee and dark fruit flavor with a peppery vanilla finish. sebletitje (10080) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JAN 20, 2011
Thanks to IBrew2or3 for the share. Pours caramel brown with an off-white head. Nose is tobacco, brown sugar, Belgian yeast, and maple. Flavor is similar with brown sugar and Belgian yeast. Light-bodied and very good. Taverner (1100) - San Ramon, California, USA - JAN 19, 2011
This is a Belgian Style Ale? Could have fooled me. This brown has some roasty notes, finishing clean. I’m not a big fan of KS’ beer, but its not like this beer is offensive - it’s just a standard brown
