12oz bottle. clear darker brown with a small off-white head and some lingering foam that leaves a solid ring. Lots of vanilla and almond in the aroma, brown sugar and dates as well. Some dried fruit and almond in the flavor. Medium-light sweetness and low bitterness. Alcohol isn’t really felt, but adds nicely to the body. Soft carbonation. Poured into 12oz. Karl Strauss pub glass. Color is nice Brown, head is tan and some what creamy helping the vanilla flavour come through. Flavour is toasted and malty, with hints of coriander spice. This was a Belgian beer with very little Belgian yeast in the aroma and flavor. A very tasty beer but as for style this misses the chart. Good malts and a nice finish it was like a brown ale to me.
Draft. Pours a slightly hazy brown, with off-white head. Malt, caramel, sweetness, and light nut flavors. This is rather cheap tasting, not that good, but what do you expect from Karl Strauss.

Pours hazy, hazelnut brown with a big, light tan head that leaves good lace. Smells yeasty and spicy with some slightly sweet malts as well. Tastes yeasty and malty and spicy. 12 oz bottle. Pours an attractive dark cherry brown with just a dusting of slightly off-white foam. Aroma is sweet molasses and roasty almonds (or some other bitter nut). Flavor is pretty typical of brown ale: solid, dark, a touch of resin and herbs in the flavor, to go with smokey wood, earth, and maybe even leather. Miramar: Reddish brown color with a frothy tan head. Aroma is kinda nutty. Flavor is sweet and malty, lightly buttery with hazel nuts, faint cocoa and a mild bitterness in the finish. Medium body is creamy with soft carbonation.
