COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgium-style ale brewed with the changing seasons in mind. Firm toasty and sweet coffee-like malt flavors are underpinned by a subtle vanilla oakiness. Peppery spice adds character to this beer’s slightly dry and warming finish. 35 SRM 24 IBU 15.5 Plato

Draft at the La Jolla brewpub. Poured a deep dark brown with a thin white head. Nose was heavy bread and yeast. Flavors of Belgium yeast, and burn popcorn with some roasted malt. Full bodied. Decent brew, probably better if I was more into Belgiums.

From the tap poured brown with a fair amount of head. Nice spicy malty flavor with a quick finish.

12 oz bottle from Bev4less. Pours amber with a foamy beige/tan head. Aromas of roast malt and yeast/spice. Some veg or fruit. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is roast malt, fruit and some spice. Bit different. Pretty much Belgian. Good drink.

12 ounce bottle pours darkish brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma is roasty with fresh wheat bread maltiness and some mild banana pith. Flavor is slightly sour with a medicinal artificial grape tinge atop a standard brown-malts-fermented-by-belgian-yeast-strain base. A little nuttiness too. Tastes almost exactly like New Belgium 1554, except with more body. Marginally better than the inexplicably overrated 1554.

Draft sample. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweety malt and small yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Pours brown with medium tan head. Aromas of nutty caramel, spice, dark fruits, plum, and typical begin phenols. Taste is much of the same with a lingering phenolic bite. Finish is sweet.
