On tap at Karl Strauss in Costa mesa. Dark brown, creamy white head, the body tasted like it was on nitro, but they said it wasn’t. some toastiness in the flavor Snojerk321 (2960) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 10, 2009
On tap @ Karl Strauss. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head, little lacing. Nose and flavor held your basic stout qualities....toasted malts, light hops, crisp finish. SDalkoholic (2408) - Linda Vista, California, USA - MAY 3, 2009
On tap at downtown location: Poured with a miniature topping of head while a dark tinted brown sat in the glass with little commotion. Sweet base of malt and cocoa was apparent through the nose but not enough to increase my appetite to take a sip. The flavor was extremely sweet with cheap off brand chocolate like flavors and a distant roasted malt profile. So glad I didn’t buy a growler of this because it was average with no stand out uniqueness to it. jb (3345) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 21, 2009
Draft at CityWalk in Universal City.
Reddish brown, light tan, creamy head. Nutty nose, heavy roasted notes too. Palate is a bit like a peanut-chocolate candy bar. A bit light for an oatmeal stout but good. jeremytoni (3082) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - FEB 21, 2009
From the tap poured dark brown with a fair amount of head. Toasted malty flavor, a little watery with a quick finish.

Chocolate, roast, vanilla, cream aroma. Full black with a thick tan head. Lots of roast, chocolate, coffee, sweet cream, vanilla and fairly strong hopping. Not bad at all. brianprentiss (705) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 19, 2008
on tap at karl strauss in carlsbad. bone dry, charcoaly-coffee taste. almost wooden tasting, very similar to guinness. dwyerpg (6368) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - APR 3, 2008
Has too much coffee throughout for me. But, it is smooth and not too dry or sweet, so it’s passable. gotbeach (139) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 28, 2008
On tap at Karls SV. Pours creamy dark brown with a diminishing tan head. Smooth and easy to drink with a slightly bitter malt flavor that smooths out at the finish. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - MAR 9, 2008
