Tap @ Carlsbad brewpub. Slightly hazy golden orange pour with a slick of white foam. Aroma is light bitterness, citrus and pine with a heavy sweet malt presence. Taste is a nice balance of pine and bitterness but there’s a heavy sweet malt, caramel flavor in the background which muddies it up quickly. Not very clean. Bottle. Pours an Amber colour, looks a little like a lager.
Aroma is quite faint, can’t really smell anything, though what i can smell is a bit of apricot and pine.
Taste. I can mainly taste apricot, with also some grapefruit, followed by a nice toffee and sweet bread malt backing.
Overall. A good beer, easy drinking, although a little bland for my liking, i would enjoy this as a session beer and it is something i would rate very highly as an entry level apa.

On tap at the brewpub - Pours clear amber with a thin off-white head. Nose is a blast of citrus--grapefruit with a little pine and onion. Clean malt body, crackery with nice grapefruit and floral hops. Thin and clean body. Awesome--just what I’m looking for in an APA. Sevenlee (1846) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - MAR 5, 2013
Pours a golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruits, caramel, citrus and some bread. Taste is light to medium sweet of fruit and caramel leading to a light to medium bitter finish. OK. jmikolich (1486) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - MAR 4, 2013
Old bottle, had to be, no way someone would sell this as a APA, flat lifeless beer malt bomb and paper.

Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a large off-white head. Not super hoppy as an IPA would be, but it does have a nose of spruce. Good body, nice flavor, but nothing that really stands out. bytemesis (9510) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JAN 30, 2013
Bottle. Pours hazy orange amber with a small off-white head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is caramel and pine. Flavor is about the same, light to medium sweet and light bitter. Fairly standard for the style. Medium body, somewhat creamy. travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 16, 2013
Bottle. The look is clear, no head, goldenish color. The smell is malts, floral, hops, pie like, and ok. The taste is pine, hops, and malts. marcus (10873) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours cloudy amber with a rich off-white head and a toffee aroma. There is a medium-bodied carbonated pale ale flavor with a soft bitter finish. davidm (2081) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Bottle from Dan Murphy’s. Very tasty, and a with a great nose. Aromas of apricot, caramel, citrus, nuts. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and average length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.
