Draft at brewery. Pours clear amber with nice white head and lacing. Nose is floral and citrus. Nice sweetness in the taste. Some dryness in the aftertaste. Great. papajohn (1250) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - APR 28, 2010
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2010 6 pack from BevMo Carmel Mtn. Ranch: Deep orange-amber color with a medium eggshell white head. Aroma is light sweet citrus. Flavor starts light sweet caramel followed by citrus and a light dry grapefruit -lemon finish. Medium body is tangy with moderate carbonation. One of Karl Strauss’s better brews. : ) Bozo_skeleton (1164) - Grenoble, FRANCE - JUN 21, 2016
Naven (1000) - Poway, California, USA - JUN 22, 2011
12 oz bottle from a "summer beers" gift pack someone gave me. Surprisingly good. It’s probably cliche, but this reminded me a lot of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Quaffable, with a fair amount of spicy hops and a good caramel backbone. The kind of beer you could easily throw back 6-7 in your backyard playing horseshoes or somethin’. Only downside was I picked up a little bit of a metallic flavor that was a minor distraction. Karol (940) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JUN 27, 2014
Tapped at Karl Strauss at the Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Aroma was malty in the back and I sensed a lot of spices and some good hops. Golden to copper color. Taste was a quite good balance of malt and bitter hops with a malty and bitter finish. Refreshing. A tasty beer.

Blonde cuivrée, très fine mousse blanche. Nez agrume, citron, citron vert, agréable mais léger. Bouche agrumes (citron, pamplemousse). Amertume moyenne, corps léger. Une APA typique, sympa, mais sans aucune originalité ! renffisch (891) - london, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2014
Actually fairly pleasant, draft at the local, San Diego. Surprisingly light and drinkable. padrefan98 (854) - (San Diego) Santee, California, USA - MAY 25, 2008
On tap at the brewery downtown San DIego. This was one of many on tap that I tasted and thought it was just ok. Heidbummer (811) - SCOTLAND - OCT 8, 2017
Taster Brewpub. Anonymous pale ale really. Some dry hops but no real character. Dare say the local suit brigade like it. Jado (804) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - AUG 7, 2012
There’s not a lot on the nose, but it looks good - deep clear amber with a lasting white head and lively carbonation. Taste is driven by some nice hops flavours with citrus, pine and herbal tones coming through. Maybe a bit thinner than other West Coast APAs, but it’s refreshing and sessionable. Will be back for more.
