3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours an Amber colour, looks a little like a lager.
Aroma is quite faint, can’t really smell anything, though what i can smell is a bit of apricot and pine.
Taste. I can mainly taste apricot, with also some grapefruit, followed by a nice toffee and sweet bread malt backing.
Overall. A good beer, easy drinking, although a little bland for my liking, i would enjoy this as a session beer and it is something i would rate very highly as an entry level apa.

In the West Coast, the line between Pale Ale and India Pale Ale is getting more blurred all the time. At 5.3% ABV and 47 IBU’s, Pintail is refreshing in that it fits exactly where it should. While it IS hop-forward, there’s a balance that really works here. The tropical, herbaceous hops are partially offset by the honey, biscuit malt characteristics. The bright, crisp hop notes hit right where you want them: at the tip of the tongue and the back of the mouth. Right in between is a rich, malty middle. It definitely did right by my palate.
