Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a large off-white head. Not super hoppy as an IPA would be, but it does have a nose of spruce. Good body, nice flavor, but nothing that really stands out.

In the West Coast, the line between Pale Ale and India Pale Ale is getting more blurred all the time. At 5.3% ABV and 47 IBU’s, Pintail is refreshing in that it fits exactly where it should. While it IS hop-forward, there’s a balance that really works here. The tropical, herbaceous hops are partially offset by the honey, biscuit malt characteristics. The bright, crisp hop notes hit right where you want them: at the tip of the tongue and the back of the mouth. Right in between is a rich, malty middle. It definitely did right by my palate.
