Tap at Cap Tap. Pours really dark brown with a beige or tan head. It’s quite ruddy against the light. Aroma is indeed rather tart cherry. Med ++ body. Flavor is something like dark malt with a great deal of mixed cherry - must be some cooking cherry, but not entirely. It is to me more sour than tart. On tap at Karl Strauss, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small white head. Aroma brings out an interesting mix of roasted malt and tart dark fruits. Draft. Ruby beer with a dark cream head. Tart and light sour aroma. Sour flavor with light barrel notes and berry fruit. Medium bodied. Sourness lingers with light bourbon, red fruit, and light acetic notes.

Sample at GABF 10/07/2017, thanks to my bro for assistance with note-taking. Dark brown color with a thin light beige head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lace. Aroma of tart fruit, oak and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of tart fruit, oaky bourbon and roast malt. The finish is oaky and roasty with a tart fruit and bourbon aftertaste. Appearance: very dark maroon color, almost black unless you hold it up to the light, no head on this restaurant pour
Aroma: sour, smoky, red wine, spicy, subtle but good
Taste: very sour, tart, red wine but it's very subtle, delicious sourness
Palate: leaves mouth dry, average carbonation, lighter mouthfeel
Overall: pretty delicious, very sour and tart, lacks complexity is my only knock but I'd drink this very often if I could get it at home, tasted from draft at Karl strauss brew pub

Extremely dark mahogany brown with moderate tan spotting and edgework.
Nose is tarte fruits, dark berry tang, spice, earthy, light acidic rise, red berry balsam tunes, tangy cherry skins, dates, stewed fruits.
Taste comprises soured berries, tarte raspberry, cherry skins, damp wood, light vinegar, fruit balsam.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a berry tang and light puckerings.
Decent dark sour, pretty well joined up and the acidity is well pitched.

Draft @ Hamilton’s Tavern, San Diego, CA. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity sour tart woody caramel aroma. Fruity sour tart woody chocolate flavor with hints of berries. Has a fruity sour tart woody chocolate finish.
