A clear, dark amber to light brown beer with a small, light beige head. The aroma is mostly on the caramel malty side, with some nuts and raisins and a touch of hoppy fruityness in the far back. Its medium bodied and soft on the palate, quite dry, even though theres some residual sugar. Nuts, dried fruits and caramel in the flavor, with some bitterness towards the end. A pretty decent one, boring style. 140118

Bottle - pours ruby with a small off white head. Lots of burnt sugary malt on the nose. Sweetness up front then some hoppy bitterness. Creamy to thin mouthfeel.

Thanks to jbtice0315 for the extra. Poured to SA sig glass. A: single finger peanut head falls quickly and reveals a red ale. Very standard look. No visual evidence of carbonation. S: Malts, biscuits, slight creamy dryness I like in ESBs in there. Light, earthy hop characters. T: This tastes like a Irish Red. Good example. malty, with earthy hops. M: Medium body, nearly flat. Just as I would expect. D: Drinkable, simple. Not the best, but standard. Serving type: bottle 02-09-2011
