From tap at the brewpub in Carlsbad. Pours cloudy hazzlenut brown with a lacing white head. Dry and malty aroma. Caramel malty and dry flavour. Slight breadish. Medium dry and mild bitter finish.

I had this for the first time in San Diego. I am not usually a fan of ale, but this immediately caught my attention. The first taste reminded me of a stout with a burned, warm flavor, but with a very clean finish. I wish they sold this one in PA.

Biscuit and mild sweetness...with a crimson body and extremely small head. Just wasnt impressed by anything from this brewery...but the food was pretty damn good!!!

On tap at Universal City location. Aroma of currants, some alcohol, a bit of caramel and maybe some smoke or scotch. Pours with an off-white head with some lacing over an amber body. Taste is of soggy malts. Its too fizzy and a bit harsh.

~Pours a copper color with small head. ~Light malty scent. Not much else. ~Sweet and biscuity with a bit of bitterness. ~Thin feel quick finish ~Its decent just too watered down.

Amber colored pour with little to no head. Malty, caramel aroma with a caramel toffee finish. This was ok.

Nice full bodied brew that suprised me because of the hops. Noticeable higher IBUs- pours an attractive deep amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is faint, but taste is mildly hoppy with sweet undertones and a firm well balanced finish.

Had it at Karl Strauss La Jolla. I thought it was pretty decent, it was sort of sweet with a lingering taste of dates.

On tap for $8 at San Diego Airport. Served in a 20-ounce plastic cup. Poured a deep, dark mahogany-chestnut body with a frothy white head. Great looking. Caramel, sweet, bready, creamy English biscuit flavor. Finished smooth and full-bodied. A very nice beer.

Draught. Served ice cold in a frosted glass... Red-brown with small yellowish rim. Malts, and very little else, seen the temperature. Roasted malts, some bitterness with slight retronasal sweetness, which continues growing warming up, pastry flavours. Medium bodied at best. Horrible presentation for a beer that isnt all that great to start with...
