DuffMan (10611) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 28, 2008
On tap pretty much everywhere we went in San Diego, but this rating comes from our extensive sit-down at The Local. Clear copper brown, earthy caramel aroma. Sweet caramel flavour profile, mild bitterness with a tea-leaf finish.

Sampler on tap at downtown San Diego brewpub. Light caramel aroma. Roasty and caramel malt flavor, with hop bitterness at the finish. Nicely balanced.

I had this for the first time in San Diego. I am not usually a fan of ale, but this immediately caught my attention. The first taste reminded me of a stout with a burned, warm flavor, but with a very clean finish. I wish they sold this one in PA.

BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUN 28, 2008
Biscuit and mild sweetness...with a crimson body and extremely small head. Just wasn’t impressed by anything from this brewery...but the food was pretty damn good!!!

BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUN 17, 2008
On tap at Universal City location. Aroma of currants, some alcohol, a bit of caramel and maybe some smoke or scotch. Pours with an off-white head with some lacing over an amber body. Taste is of soggy malts. Its too fizzy and a bit harsh.

~Pours a copper color with small head. ~Light malty scent. Not much else. ~Sweet and biscuity with a bit of bitterness. ~Thin feel quick finish ~Its decent just too watered down.

auderale (605) - Minot, North Dakota, USA - MAY 14, 2008
Amber colored pour with little to no head. Malty, caramel aroma with a caramel toffee finish. This was ok.

phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 7, 2008
Nice full bodied brew that suprised me because of the hops. Noticeable higher IBUs- pours an attractive deep amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is faint, but taste is mildly hoppy with sweet undertones and a firm well balanced finish.

Had it at Karl Strauss La Jolla. I thought it was pretty decent, it was sort of sweet with a lingering taste of dates.
