Odd to see poor reviews of this. Great quaffable red. Aroma is that of raisins and dark fruit. Carries through to the taste with some caramel and toffee notes. Mouth feel medium but clean finish.

On tap at Karl Strauss brewing in San Diego. Very Carmel forward - took a couple of sips from my wife

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer&Beyond shop. Clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, honey, slightly oxidized and fruity. Sweet, flavors of honey, caramel, fruits, toasted bread, notes of oxidation, dry with light bitterness. Medium-bodied. Seems old.

rayaron (1839) - Kfar Saba, ISRAEL - MAR 11, 2016
Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer and Beyond, Tel Aviv. Clear amber with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee and some fruitiness. The flavor is sweet and bitterish with notes of toffee, caramel, fish sauce and citrusy hops, lingering bitterness. Light to medium-bodied.

Not sure what beer the deScription is for but it is not the beer I tasted. Weak aroma of fruits and nuts, pours a clear reddish brown color with a short lasting off white head. A watery body with a weak nutty taste and a slightly fruity finish.

theread (58) - Wagga Wagga, AUSTRALIA - JAN 23, 2016
Bottle from Dan Murphy Wagga. Poured nice red colour but the head was thin and didn’t last too long. Nice caramel and dried fruit taste but not as strong and lasting as I would have expected after being told about this one. Easy to drink and could cause dramas with the 5.8% alcohol as it could sneak up on you if you had a few.

bastarda (502) - Freiburg, GERMANY - JAN 8, 2016
shared with Konfuzzi Dec/15. aromas of dark caramel malts with a nice hint of wood/oak. Tastewise quite a let-down, too watery, diluted caramels, flat, boring.

Rating #1534 - 20.03.2015 - On tap at San Diego Zoo Nice amber/orange colour with a decent white/tan foam with medium retention. Aroma is sweet, toffee malt,. Taste is very strong, caramel malt and a hint of currant. Bold malt forward amber that is quite drinkable.

Fisler (547) - Bamberg, GERMANY - DEC 26, 2015
Schöne rote Farbe, zügige Perligkeit. In der Nase Röstmalz, Pflaume, Karamell. Im Trunk kräftig malzig, leichte Frucht, mittig alkoholisch, im Abgang nochmal stärker Malz. Sehr schön rund und doch komplex. Sehr lecker.

AgentAle (1754) - Alberta, CANADA - OCT 22, 2015
Aroma is roasty sweet malts, caramel, raisins, cream and buttscotch. Taste 8 sweet and as aroma. Well balanced light hop profile. Appearance is a clear bronze body with a thin pearl head that retains fairly poorly.
