Why do I give the same rating to all of Karl Strauss’s sampler beers? Above average beer. Nice red color. Homebrew taste. A tiny bit bitter and sharp, but decent.

Brought by Tipsy to the tasting. Looks like a red ale. Almost no head. Almost no aroma. Some vanilla in the flavour. Lots of toast. Actuallly a touch better than expected.

Not a very good beer at all. Your much better sticking with AleSmith and Stone beers. Malty, not very hoppy at all, did not enjoy the aftertaste.

TipsyMcStager (1139) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 7, 2007
Light malty aroma. Pours an amber red, thin head. Flavour is dominated by caramel malt. Sugary. I found it one-dimensional and dull

Not a terrible beer...def worth a try. Very smooth, rich, nice on the palate...caramel/toffee flavor. Deep mahagony appearance... nothing too special though. Is definately one of their best offerings. Would be nice with a burger or in the sun

Airlifter (134) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - APR 12, 2007
Bottle in Marina Del Rey. Red-amber color with tall, tan head. Mild hoppy aroma. A bit soapy and a little bland, but not bad.

IrishBoy (4254) - Bakersfield, California, USA - MAR 11, 2007
Draft at Disney’s California Adventure; Nose of roasty caramel and faint hops; brown with a small beige head; flavor is toffee, caramel malt, with a molasses note, with a very light hop finish. A lot better than the Strauss Endless Summer Light I tried after it!

3.6
riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAR 10, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 3, 2007 Aroma is sweet toffee and some dried fruit. Appearance is a darker red than what most would consider an amber ale. Flavor is toffee, fruit, some vanilla. It is exceptionally smooth and easy to drink, but this stuff gives me a wicked hangover for some reason. Good for an amber. More flavor than most.

Sampled at the Blarney Stone in Clairmont. A very nice amber ale that is packed full of hoppy and malty goodness. Really blows a lot of amber brews out of the water. Appearance is a nice dark red and flavor is smooth and hoppy. A quality brew.
