Appearance: attractive clear coppery-amber pour, with one fat finger of off-white head; minimal lacing. Aroma: caramel, brown sugar, sweet and toasty malts. Taste: caramel, toffee, brown sugar, a bit of raisin and possibly some light maple syrup. Finish: smooth, toasty, slightly sweet, with a pleasant lingering malty-ness. Notes: Now this was just an AWESOME beer. Really malty-tasting, but not a malt bomb per se. While on the sweet side, it wasn’t too sweet. Just a swell, easy drinking beer, and probably the best Irish Ale I’ve ever had. On tap at the downtown SD location.

Pours a red amber with small foam head. Aroma is malty with berry and hints of raisin. Taste is different than most beers, malty and hoppy with a sweet berry and raisin flavor finish. This beer surprised me when I first drank it, since the taste wasn’t typical. Its a good beer I will drink it again.

Poured out red brown. 24ºSRM.
Nose is nutty, with a hint of leather. Nice hit of raw dough and wheat flour.
Mouthfeel is beery. Palate is clean and nutty. There are malty biscuit-like flavors. Chin chow and red bean paste on the palate for local flavors. Hint of phenol. Hops are bitter and noble.
Finish is beery light and sweet, reminiscent of chin chow. Overall a very full-bodied red ale with a nice clean light finish.

On tap at Karl Strauss in Universal City Walk Hollywood. Pours a clear, medium brown color with creamy, off-white head. Aroma is slightly sweet with malts. Taste is very good for its style. Slightly sweet and delicious.
