UPDATED: JAN 9, 2011 $8 growler-to-go from the Sorrento Mesa location: Orange-amber color with a small fading white head. Aroma is fruity with spice and belgian yeast. Flavor starts sweet with over-ripe fruit followed hints of clove with a peppery dry finish. Medium body is tangy with lively carbonation. karimawad (2) - USA - MAR 14, 2010 does not count
A good and refreshing beer, however didn’t come across as flavorful as other saisons. J_man (1017) - Tustin, California, USA - MAR 10, 2010
A light copper color with a very frail head. The aroma is an interesting sour/malty with a bit more power than most saisons. The flavor continues the slight sourness balanced by a medium bodied malt. Very food friendly and sessionable. yespr (46563) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2010
From tap at Pizza Port San Clemente. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and mild yeasty. Classic saison yeast with a peppery note and mild fruity touch. Mild citrusy fruity note into a mellow yeasty finish. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 29, 2010
On tap at the Old Columbia brewpub. This does not look like a saison. It smells and tastes like one. Cloudy amber with a medium white head. Has a delicious lemony tartness. Some essence of horse blanket. Ok but not great.

Poured hazy yellow-gold with a bubbly white head. Light lacing. Fresh floral nose with straw, apples, clove, and grass. Bubbly mouthfeel, kind of sharp. More bitter than expected for a saison; peppery and hoppy. Some lemon zest with a strong wheat/straw taste. A welcome funkiness in the finish. Not bad. jeremytoni (3082) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - FEB 21, 2009
From the tap poured amber with a good amount of head. Nice light sweet malt flavor with a quick finish. jb (3304) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 21, 2009
Draft at CityWalk in Universal City. This was unlike Saison’s I’ve had in the past, and for the better, generally they are light and uninspiring. This was dark orange and left a light but interesting lacing pattern. Also it was a bit hazy with a spotty head. Had a sour yeasty aroma. The palate was also sour as well as citrusy. A very dry finish. As I sipped, strong tiny bubbles tickled my tongue. As I drank it I noted the cleanness of the palate. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - FEB 19, 2009
On tap at KS Irvine. Color was a bit darker than expected, as it was amber with an off white head. Aroma of wheat, gum/banana and spice. Flavor was the same and pretty good. Nothing special about this one, but overall it was enjoyable. wetherel (1888) - Cupertino, California, USA - FEB 8, 2009
On tap at Karl Strauss Carlsbad, Amber color. Classic saison yeasty aroma. Leans dry. Easy to drink. Nice carbonation zing.
