Draft at the Carlsbad location. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of malt and caramel as well as light notes of alcohol, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish, where the alcohol lingers. 22 IBU’s, my version was 6.0% ABV.

Poured clear brown with a minimal tan head/ring of bubbles. No lacing to speak of. Caramel and toffee aroma, along with a dark bread scent. Watery and loose mouthfeel, very uncharacteristic for a Scotch. Similar weakness in the flavor. More of the caramel and toffee, bread dough, and now a little chocolate malt. Universal City location. My server said he strongly prefered last years batch over this one. Pours with a huge, creamy, off-white head covering a clear bronze body. Peat and some plums is all that I could real pull out of the faint aroma. Taste is bland with a very off-note like dirty, moldy socks. I thought a dirty tap, but the guy working their said that it is not the tap, but the beer, and he agrees that the batch was off. Mouthfeel is pretty good though, smooth with lively bubbles.
