Clear gold with a thin white head. Great floral aroma, mild bitter aftertaste, not too bad at all. Give it a try. Xenon2000 (6) - - OCT 17, 2013 does not count
Six pack from Dan Murphy.Very nice drop, not an explosion of hops in your mouth like some IPA's, and the 7% ABV doesn't show it's head until you are a few bottles in. Would definitely buy again. Recommended

Bottle. Amber/orange, off white head and good lacing. Pine and citrus aromas. Pine flavours dominate the front palate while a huge dose of sweet malt does balance it somewhat. Perhaps a touch big for me but not bad. vanvenlo (1923) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - SEP 18, 2013
Dan Murphy bottle (18-Sep-13) Biggish fruit resin and slight aniseed aroma. Amber colour, ordinary head and suds lacing. Spicy fruit herbal hop flavour. Bitter resin fruit spice finish and spicy herbal resin aftertaste. Sask89 (530) - Regina, Saskatchewan, CANADA - SEP 1, 2013
Taster at La Jolla location. Pours a clear yellow colour with a big frothy white head. Aroma of grassy and citrus hops with some light bread and caramel malts. Taste is slightly sweet but mostly bitter, though not greatly bitter like I would like for an IPA. Medium body, good carbonation, and smooth on the palate. Good beer, alright IPA overall.

Pours clear amber with a small lacing off white head. Aroma is hoppy citric grapefrity malty. Spot on great bitter flavor with lnglasting finish, lacking the fruits though, a bit unbalances. deaconmike (470) - Roswell, Georgia, USA - AUG 26, 2013
On tap in a hotel bar in Orange County. A fairly pleasant IPA. Copper in color with an off white head with good lacing. Citrus, pine and some caramel malt in the nose. Taste is mostly bitter with a touch of sweetness. Menu body. Worth a try. ChadPolenz (1847) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - AUG 12, 2013
I poured a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. I couldn’t find a freshness date. I got this from #BBC13.

Appearance: An opaque, dark shade of orange. Forms a large, off white, frothy head that retains and laces pretty well.
Smell: Sweet, clean aroma of orange and pine. Almost candy-like.
Taste: I was skeptical about Karl Strauss Tower 10 IPA, because the last time I tried it I really didn’t like it (long story). But now that I’m drinking it under ideal conditions I’m actually quite surprised how appealing it is now. Plenty of hop bitterness and flavor, but a prominent malt presence to give it true balance (which is surprising considering the city in which it’s made).
The first thing I notice is how sweet the malt base is. According to the brewery’s website, it’s made with a touch of lightly-kilned caramel malts, and it shows. Sweet yes, but nothing cloying or sticky as is often the case in bigger beers of the style. It’s also made with Chinook hops which tend to have astringent bitterness, but in this case they’re even out well with the Cascade and Centennial dry hops. Significant pine flavor throughout the first half of the palette, follow by citrusy tartness on the finish. I detect a hint of sweet tea or some kind of earthy/herbal character, but it’s restrained enough to make it genuinely pleasurable.
Drinkability: At 70 IBUs and 7% ABV, you’d think Tower 10 IPA wouldn’t be that easy to drink. While it certainly has an energetic presence in the mouth, the delivery itself is comfortable from start to finish. The hops do linger, but are tolerable for sure. I could see this beer being quite versatile.
