COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

Draft. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of hops as well as lighter notes of nuts. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hops primarily lending it notes of hay, but with a good malt to balance it, and leading to a quite bitter finish.

Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, fairly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, mildly sweet. Nice orange hops, good depth of flavour, peel and marmalade and a touch of lemon provide dimensions. Mild pine before a light and slightly bitterish finish. Not a shouty IPA but wins you over with it’s charm.

Draft at Karl Strauss - Downtown San Diego. Pours clear, light gold, lightly effervescent with a modest, foamy white head. The nose holds floral hops, so,e dry citrus, dried pale malts. Light to medium sweet flavor with assertive, floral bitterness, dandelions, grass, some balancing pale malt sugars, grapefruit rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous and warming on the finish with more bitter grass and flowers, some dry pine, sticky grapefruit. Not bad.
