COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2016 Bottle @ cafe Frape, Maastricht. Cloudy light golden, white foamy head that leaves a nice lacing. Light citrus, spruce, resin, grassy hop profile, grainy and sweet malty base, medium dry and bitter finish. Firm body, low-medium carbonation.

Bread and oats on the aroma. Pours a light brown with a medium sized foam. Taste is a quick, moderate bitter hops with a faint caramel and doughy malt in the back. Overall, sad excuse for an IPA. Only offers a quick bitter hop bite with pathetic malts in the back. D rating.

ARH (1125) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 21, 2014
On tap poured into a 4 oz sampler glass. Pine and grapefruit aromas stand out on this one with a subtle lime and even fainter caramel note. The clear, gold body is topped by a soapy white head that leaves an abundant web-like lacing. Moderate bitterness is supported by a light sweet and a touch of sourness. It’s a medium-full bodied beer with average carbonation. It starts with a sweet lemon citrus note and finishes with a clean and dry pine, citrus, and roasted malt character. There seems to be a trace of tobacco in there too, but I couldn’t pinpoint it. The aftertaste is a mellow grapefruit astringency.

Bottle. Sensoric. Golden, little hazy with medium to big, white head. Good head retention and lacing. Nice citrus (mainly grapefruit) and floral aroma, als some touch of tropical fruits. Taste is medium bitter, broken by biscuity sweetness. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, finish is long, bitter and semi-dry. In overall nice IPA, refreshing with long and bitter aftertaste, very solid in its’ style.

Bland IPA.Bready and dry, sweet at first taste. Ends on a clean note. Amber with white head. Not the greatest IPA, and seems more like a APA.

Bottle, 355ml. Hazy golden with a frothy offwhite head. Floral hoppy and roasted aromas. Medium to robust bodied with moderate to fizzy carbonation. Dry and heavily astringent. Medium sweet fruity and malty character into a medium to heavy bitter hoppy finish. Very pleasant.

Bottle from naven. Too much malt and not enough hops for a west coast ipa. Like an English ipa.

Tap @ downtown location. Poured clear copper with a short white head. Minimal lacing. Light, grassy aroma with piney hops, white pepper, and citrus. Watery mouthfeel. Refreshing taste, mostly grapefruit and a light bitter resiny taste. Some mineral and bread flavors, dry finish. Came across as an IPA-lite.

12 oz bottle from a friend. Light amber pour with a small head. Aroma is very nice with fruity hops - pine, grapefruit, mango, pineapple and a very nice maltiness, crusty and crispy. Taste is nice and bitter, grapefruit, pineapple, nice crispy maltiness - I really like the malt profile in this one. Good stuff

Reddish-orange in color with a white foamy head and a noticable but not overpowering hop aroma. Good bitter, citrusy hop presence balanced by a smooth malty body. Definitely an IPA but not an overpowering one by any means. Good food-friendly IPA from a great brewery!
