Reddish-orange in color with a white foamy head and a noticable but not overpowering hop aroma. Good bitter, citrusy hop presence balanced by a smooth malty body. Definitely an IPA but not an overpowering one by any means. Good food-friendly IPA from a great brewery! Naven (1000) - Poway, California, USA - APR 5, 2009
Bottle, from Henry’s. $6.50 a six pack. This is a new release, apparently taking the place of Stargazer. Looks nice, smells nice, but the flavor is rather dull. It’s hoppy, but it lacks the brightness and fruitiness I crave in an IPA. For whatever reason, Karl Strauss bottled beer has never impressed me like their draft beers. My guess is that this is really good on tap. As it is now, it’s just OK. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 11, 2011
Pours hazy orange with a short head. Cereal and floral nose. Bitter flavor. Medium body, astringent finish. No sweetness and missing complexity and balance. Decent IPA but nothing special. Nero55 (936) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 1, 2015
Bottle. Hazy golden with small off white head. Aroma of resinous and grapefruit hops. Light body, resinous and grapefruit hop bitterness, not much malt notes, and a bitter finish. Karol (918) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JUN 27, 2014
Tapped at Karl Strauss at the Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Wonderul aroma of exotic hops and much citrus. Color was light golden, white head, vanished quickly but kept a a tiny level. Taste was refreshing, a good malt basis plus a lot of bitter citrus mango leeches hops. After a 4 hour walk through the Universal Studios this was an excellent beer!

Bottle 7%. Clear golden amber pour with a lasting foamy white head. Nose has notes of pine, grapefruit, lemon, lime and caramel. Creamy mouthfeel with moderate to high carbonation and a big bitter finish that lingers. Taste is very piney, with the fruit notes much more subdued and a solid malt profile that has hints of nuts, wood and caramel. Overall a fairly decent IPA, a little unexciting, bland even, but still quite drinkable. greenhorn1 (850) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - JUN 25, 2010
Bomber. Sucks to start of Friday evening with a negative post and dissapointing IPA. Aroma lacks any nose an IPA should have. Smells somewhat piney, on the verge of pure funkiness. Flavor is similiar. Mainly caramel malts and lacking on hop bite or flavor. Nothing to brag about on the finish either. Not a good representation of an IPA. Maybe I purchased a bad bottle?? 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with a one-finger white head. Pine resin and flowers on the nose. The taste is dominated by hops as you might expect. Good malt backbone underlies pine and citrus flavours. Assertive bitterness typical of the style is present but doesn’t overwhelm. Dry finish but a slightly sweet fruity aftertaste lingers. Fine example of a West Coast IPA. Nik925 (795) - USA - DEC 6, 2011
A solid IPA, but lots of issues. The malt is very weak in both flavor, color and texture. It tastes like they were trying to be really cheap with the hops. Overly bitter, very light on hop aroma or flavor. I guess they are trying to do the opposite of the SoCal hop-bomb? KS gets old school credit, but when he is playing with Pizza Port and Stone, he gets left behind. SNL (791) - - JUN 5, 2014
Clear golden color, with a small white head.
Nose is sweet, roasted caramel. Taste is crisp, modest malts.
Medium bodied beer with average carbonation.
