COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

Wittales (762) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAY 26, 2014
Appearance was hazy orangish gold with creamy white lasting 1 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are citrus fruits, caramel and pale malts with soft pine and earthy leather. Taste are orange, grapefruit upfront gives way to toffee sweetness, then pine back with clean yeasts. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with medium body, then fruity piney lasting finish. A solid SD IPA, tad to sweet.

Bottle, 355ml. A clear amber beer with a small white head. Aroma is of hops, malt, citrics and maybe chlorine (reminds me of when Im close to a pool). Taste is bitter with some carbonation. Medium bodied, astrigent and dry. Strong hoppy finish with a hint of mint.

Bottle received from thome50. Fairly clear amber, orange color with a large white head. Aroma has a hint of citrus and floral notes, with caramel also being present. Taste floral and slightly soapy. Caramel comes up mid palate and leads to a minutely bitter finish. Loads of lacing left on my glass. This really could have been much worse, and if it had a bit more hop presence could have been pretty good.

Bottled. Poured into pint glass. Mild aroma, nothing strong. Nice color that is dark amber, very little head. It taste a little under carbonated, and possibly not fresh. I think this is my first experience with this beer, so I dont know what it might be like if very fresh. It was a gift from a friend, purchased at Cost Plus, so Im thinking it might have been sitting on a warm shelf awhile. Might try again if known fresh and rerate.

From DM. Clear Orange/copper in colour, foamy white head. Caramel and strong hop aroma. Bitter pine and spice and sweet caramel taste that is a little rough, but otherwise quite OK.

Bottle. Amber/orange, off white head and good lacing. Pine and citrus aromas. Pine flavours dominate the front palate while a huge dose of sweet malt does balance it somewhat. Perhaps a touch big for me but not bad.

Lothore (642) - California, USA - MAR 29, 2014
A- Pours a deep, cloudy orange hue with a 1.5 finger, frothy head that fades with quite a bit of lacing. S- Very grainy, caramel, slight hints of grassiness. T- Starts off very bready which leads into a wave of hops and a nice, crisp, bitter finish. M- Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation. D- A refreshing IPA. Doesnt stand out a whole lot but I would revisit.
