COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 17, 2012
355 ml bottle. Rated on 16.10.2012.
Pours a copper orange colour without a head. Aroma of grains, metals and some fruitiness. Flavour of harsh grainy malts, grassy hops, metals and some alcohol. Harsh on the palate with a bitter grainy finish. Alcohol comes through in the finish as well. Not very good.

Sledutah (7792) - Utah, USA - OCT 23, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours slightly cloudy, medium copper with a creamy white head. I light lace in the glass that dissipated quickly. Aroma is bitter citrus and piney. Taste is what you would expect from the aroma. It finishes with a bitter malt flavor that leaves an antiseptic taste on my tongue.

motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - FEB 27, 2014
bottle, picked up at dan murphy’s somewhere between gosford and terrigal. amber with a steady head; plenty of grapefruit in the aroma; decent bitterness, perhaps a bit heavy on the caramel but pretty drinkable nonetheless

BlackHaddock (7585) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2014
On tap at the brew outlet on Columbia St, San Diego on 18th March 2014. Misty old gold in appearance with whatever head there was dissipating before it reached my table, just a wisp and collar on my pour. Citrus nose and flavour with a mild semi-sweet malty background. A little thin in the body, not watery, but getting that way. OK but not really my thing.

GenDV138 (7579) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - APR 7, 2014
12 ounce bottle poured into a Belgian tulip. Pours a hazy apricot yellow with a finger of off-white head. Decent lacing. Aromas of stone fruit, tropical fruit, citrus, toast, a bit of candied fruit. Tasting notes of tropical fruit, citrus, floral and grassy hops, toast, caramel. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. A bit malt forward. Pretty nice.

tiong (7516) - Espoo, FINLAND - JUL 4, 2015
355 ml bottle from Bier-Deluxe

Bottled January 2015 :( - Pours yellowish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of grassy hops, grapefruit, citrus, lemon, herbal and fruity notes. Taste is crisp, hoppy and resinous with some grass, grapefruit, citrus and lemon. Finish is sweetish, piney and resinous with loads of citrus, grapefruit and lemon. Pretty generic but balanced and surprisingly tasty despite the bottle is not very fresh.

Bottle. Orange pour with light tan head. Malt heavy, with grassy and slight citrus hops. Light oxidation notes but hops still present.

3.2
mansquito (6814) - Nueva York, New York, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Some liquor store in San Diego: Pours a darkish orange with a white head. Aroma is rather nice and is better than the taste. Taste is earthy and piny, with less citrus than I would have expected. I also found that the sugar seemed to be a little bit unbalanced, as this beer was a bit too sweet. Hops are not sufficiently bitter and hardcore.

3.3
kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2016
Clear gold body with a small wispy head. The nose is slightly citrusy with some doughy malt. The flavor is a bit weak, a fair amount of bitterness, but light hop flavor. Crackery and bready maltiness in the middle, lingering bitterness on the back end. Medium bodied, a little clingy, fizzy carbonation. Meh, ok, but not a standout.

3.4
ben4321 (6677) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 24, 2010
Location: On tap at the SD Airport, 1/9/10

Aroma: Peach, grapefruit, caramel, and pine notes
Appearance: Caramel color with lots of lace on the glass
Flavor: Hop bitterness up-front, caramel malt backing
Palate: This beer is crisp and nice, pretty dry
Overall Impression: A pretty nice IPA, not a standout, but a more then adequate example of the style, and a really nice beer to kill some time while waiting for my plane to take off.
