COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2009 Pour a nice copper color with a tan head. taste is malty with a okay bitter hop finish. does finish clean. however, this does seem to be a little water downed. while it is much better then Stargazer, it lacks the charcter and body of a great IPA.

Pours with an orange-amber body topped by a thick head with little lacing left on the glass. The aroma is nice...full of fresh green hop notes and light notes of orange. The flavor is citrusy (predominantly orange) with sweet notes, a little underlying hops and a note of alcohol. Kinda reminds me of a screwdriver. medium bodied, smooth and a bit dry.

From the tap poured amber with a fair amount of head. Hoppy flavor with a lasting finish.

On tap at the brewpub in Universal Studios LA. Pours a clear golden body with a finger-width, creamy white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Sweet piney grapefruit aroma with a touch of sweeter caramels. Taste is similar with a lingering pine. Not too aggressive, but a nice, lighter earth and balancing caramels. Palate is light to medium bodied with a touch of carbonation. Overall, a nice session IPA. Enough taste to satisfy and better than anticipated.

12 oz. bottle, six pack from BevMo. Pours a clear, rich copper color with a small whitish head that diminishes rapidly. Aroma of toasty malts, herbs and sweet bread, hints of clover and citrus. Flavor also of toasty malts, a bit of caramel, biter herby hops, lemon grass, citrus peel, a bit of clay and a slightly peppery, astringent finish. Medium body, lightly oily and a gentle tingle on the tongue. Overall a much better, hoppier IPA than their standard.

Bottle. Orange pour with light tan head. Malt heavy, with grassy and slight citrus hops. Light oxidation notes but hops still present.

Pours clearish orange with a medium size white head and sheet lace. Smells malty sweet and lightly floral hoppy. Might be old. On tap in C’Bad though. Tastes balanced. Sweet malts with some light floral hops and very little bitterness. Its ok. Medium body, ok carbonation.

Draft. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Decent IPA. The aroma is the best part with a strong honey and lemon zest character coming through with the hops. The appearance is light golden and orange. The taste has more malt than I expected with the hps only playing lightly on the tongue. Decent beer, but nothing special

Bomber pours clear copper with light tan head. The aroma is pretty full with lots of malts, caramel malts and nuttiness with echoes of pine hops. I seem to have gotten an old bottle. The taste has aged blunted pine hop flavor and pine hop bitterness. The malts have made deep in-roads into the flavor. I need to try this again with a fresh bottle.
