Bottle. Pours with a hazy bronze hued body with a decently sized tan head that slowly fades to a ring. Good lace and some alcohol legs left behind on the sides of the glass. Aromas are strongly estery and malty. Lots of banana, even at a distance. Caramel, grainy, light chocolate, alcohol, grand manier, and pears. No hops aromas to speak of. Some caramelization. Flavors are alcohol forward, banana, light phenol (clove and some other spices), more esters, honey, malty, grainy, raisin-bran cereal, mild chocolate, orange essence/liquor. Ashy/dusty chocolate, mild table grapes. Complex if not scattered malt character. Light balancing bitterness. On the slightly sweet side overall. Alcohol is definitely there. Bigger body with medium-light carbonation. Warming. Pretty decent. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - DEC 26, 2011
