Appearance: traditional average gold color, very hazy, has a small off white head
Aroma: very funky, banana, yeast, bread, very aromatic
Taste: lemon, some light bitterness, very strong banana and bread,
Palate: average to soft carbonation, very nice hefe froth, banana mouthfeel, minimal aftertaste
Overall: one of the better hefeweizen beers I've had, very strong flavors and aromas, highly recommended, from a draft pour which I'm sure explains the lack of head

Appearance was cloudy gold with diminishing creamy white fizzy 1 finger head, no lacing. Aromas are banana, clove, bubblegum, soft grain, and cream. Taste are soft clove, wheat, banana, bubblegum with hints of pear and lemon. Palate was soft fizzy CO2 with light body, then fruity traditional smooth finish. A good American Hefe, summer delight. on tap at Karl Strauss, C+ beer at the most. Their pilsener that I sampled alongside was much better. BigBastard (668) - L.A., California, USA - MAY 17, 2004
Nice cloudy appearance, with a wheat/banana aroma. Wheat, banana, slight smoke and some sweet spice came through nicely. Very good and refreshing.

Aroma: classic wheat, banana, and clove
Palate: tingling attack of carbonation.
Flavor: Like the aroma. Finishes with a touch of bitterness.
Comment: I’ve had a number of German wheat beers lately and this seems fairly authentic. The carbonation is more lively and finish is a bit drier and more bitter than the German ones I’ve had but this is alright. A decent version of a Bavarian wheat beer. Given the light body, it would go well with food. jarspag (601) - San Francisco, California, USA - AUG 9, 2007
Ya ya ya. On tap. It’s a citrus-lemon-spicy-orangey-cloudy type wheat beer. Light and for the sunshine only. You know what they taste like... right? wheresyourball (572) - El Cajon, California, USA - OCT 16, 2012
12 ounce bottle from KnB. Pours a murky yellow with a small white head. Nose is banana, yeast, clove. Taste is wheat, banana, and a little citrus. Thin mouthfeel. Comparable to many other beers in this class.

Taster at La Jolla location. Pours a heavily clouded golden yellow colour with a thin white head. Aroma is of banana and clove, with a little yeast. Taste has no bitterness and a muted sweetness. Light body, thin on the palate and standard carbonation for a wheat beer. Overall a fine wheat beer, but nothing special. DeadGirl (478) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 1, 2010
On tap at Karl Strauss at the La Jolla location (San Diego, CA): Pours out a cloudy pale yellow. Nose is of candied banana and some clove. Flavor of whole wheat banana bread and fruity bubble gum. Carbonated throughout the feel with an added milk shake texture. Lemon zest finish. Very sweet. Drinkability: Tastes really commercial. But close to solid for the style they’re presenting. Pairing: Light salad over garlic seasoned pita bread. Rebuy: Probably not. #313 on 01032010, DG.
